Nice video thanx, Tools have certainly got better since I was a plumber 35 years ago!!! Lol... As an apprentice I had, small/large Footprint grips, junior and large hacksaw, tape measure, mini level, 15mm/22mm pipe bending springs, small hammer (claw), small jimmy/crowbar, some basic screwdrivers (flat and philips), a Rothenberger basin wrench, an old cigarette tin full of washers, olives, etc, all held in a large canvas bag. Also had a full set of drain rods and a plunger! I'm surprised no-one seems to use Footprint grips anymore, in my day every plumber had them? Cheers
Great vid Liam! I think it depends what work the apprentice is doing. If they're on sites then no need for olive cutters. If they're jobbing, doing referbs etc then yes 100% olive cutters!
Great video Liam. Wonderful that you did that for the new guys to show them they don't need to spend a fortune to get started. Yeah the £100 tool stater thing is a great idea. Maybe then give it as a giveaway to local starter
Great video mate, the olive cutters are one of them things that do make life so much easier. I got my set when I was an apprentice as I seemed to be constantly changing radiator valves when my boss was fitting the boilers. I only carry a 15mm one but have saved me a few times over the years
Give the apprentice the rad tail Allen keys, make them work. With the olive cutters I’d say teach them with a junior hacksaw first so olive cutters later on

Thankyou mate! Ohh they definitely do, I’m like you with the 15mm ones… never needed 22mm!
Great video mate glad i found you on here. Do you do any boiler work or just plumbing?
Thanks! No just general plumbing and heating stuff, with the occasional bathroom
Subscribed. I'm 37 and thinking a becoming a plumber but afraid that on apprentice money I won't be able to provide for my family
Yes they should go in there

Olive cutting are a must mate I can’t live without them lol
Yeah I think the same, definitely don’t need 22mm I think
