- During the development of Terraria 1.4.5 Redigit accidentally created a secret seed so heinous it makes Get Fixed Boi look like a trip to the ice cream store... and we get to try it! This is just a behind-the-scenes look at some of the chaos that can occur while creating Terraria. What was Red cooking up? Hopefully, time will tell.

Recently Red accidentally created a pure abomination seed, and he wanted to share it! This is a small behind-the-scenes look at some of the wild things that can happen when developing Terraria!
Red 'So to preface this is just something that happened while I was working on seed stuff. It’s a complete mess, but I thought it would be funny to have chippy show it'

"By your powers combined" Is meant to be a reference to a show called Captain Planet. Basically the main characters would combine the 4 elements (Plus heart) to summon him, to which the first thing Captain Planet says is, "By your powers combined, I am Captain Planet!"
*five elements. Fire, Wind, Water, Earth(?) and heart

You know what this seed reminds me of? There was glitch in super mario land 2 where going down a pipe could cause the game to start displaying it's own code as if it was a level, filling the screen with a bunch of random blocks and tiles, and the craziest part was that destroying certain blocks would actually cause their corresponding bits of code to change, with effects ranging from making the game unplayable to literally skipping to the credits.
Imagine if this seed worked the same way!

I have a theory, Red said there would be special secrets for certain seed combinations, so perhaps you have to get a very specific combination of seeds in order to make it playable.
"By your powers combined", does seem like a fair theory.

Imagine an RPG in the vein of Dragon's Dogma but with Red in charge. That would be both terrifying and amazing
He will release overwatch pve, but with a ungodly amount of boulders.
I think the seed is just one big painting, judging by the perfect circle and colors on the map

We got a HUGE spoiler with the Pre HM unicorn falling from the sky.
Also had all hardmode enemies there too. Maybe he is testing a way to let HM always active in some worlds, probably to accelerate the multiple world farming.
Would be fun to have a world with Hardmode from the get go, with biome spread, mummies and such things, but their power is scaled down until you beat wall of flesh.
Also Unicorn rain feels disgusting, i love it.
At 0:59, the reference was indeed to 90s pop culture! The phrase "by your powers combined" was used in the kids TV show Captain Planet, where the group of main characters had different powered rings all related to one aspect of nature, be it Wind, Fire or even Heart. When all 5 characters combined Captain Planet appeared, very great show and nice to know more people still remember it

Best guess is that the secret code is a Captain Planet reference as there’s a similar phrase used in that show “with your Powers Combined…” just replace “with” with “by”

@@BlackdragonTheShadowNever watched the show, but I just looked up a clip. In the clip I saw it's a bit hard to hear and can easily be mistaken as "with", but if you listen closely it's "by". Not sure if that holds true for the rest of the show or if it was just that one clip.

Hold up. There were hard mode enemies, like the slimer and the unicorn. Does the seed start in hard mode?
It might just allow hardmode enemies to spawn immediately like getfixedboi does with Mimics

the terraria dev team and terraria community are constantly one-upping each other with their "can we make something too difficult to beat"/"can we beat anything no matter how difficult" competition i swear
if calamity is still played, vanilla will be slayed

@@alexthewrecker4666same, the environment round getfixedboi like the traps and such gave it significantly harder, at least with calamity you only have the bosses to worry about

@@alexthewrecker4666I think that calamity and getfixboi is an example of the difference between difficult and tedious. Calamity eventually gets easier and you can finish a playthrough in 1 or 2 days, but getfixedboi will pretty much always take about a week.

as someone who's played ftw master mode as summoner, and zenith seed as melee, i have nothing to lose anymore.

It IS is hardmode, isn't it?
I'm about to beat the getfixedboi seed soon. ZERO cheating and it was a helluva journey through many trials that tested all my skills and knowledge of the game. i really got attached to the determination i had in this world. I'll never ever see Terraria the same way again and i feel as if I've been rarified and tempered through this incredible and difficult task. it was really a whole story with every inch of the world having a special meaning and every object a sentiment attached to it. all that's left is the moonlord, and i will have completed my rite of passage.
Edit: I have beaten it! It was an ugly but beautiful challenge! I am now worthy! I'm keeping that world and that character as a trophy 🎉
one thing i'm sure of is that im glad Red is a terarria dev, because imagining this man making stuff for other games terrifies me.
not because it would be bad, but because it would be chock-full of the most absurd ideas and glitches-turned-features you have ever seen XD

With the Captain Planet reference and the circular shapes on the map, it almost seems like this seed was an attempt to make the map generate in planet like spheres that went horribly wrong.

There were definitely some shapes drawn out by those blocks, it was just hard to make out what they were. If you look at the map after revealing more of it, you might be able to make something out, though.
