Seventeen *days?* Hey man, I don't wanna rain on your parade, but we're not gonna last seventeen *hours!* Those things are gonna come in here just like they did before. And they're gonna come in here...
I didn't crew the Nostromo( thank god) but I DID crew an old junker with the same reactor/power plant for 2 years. Once I got back dirtside I couldn't sleep for lack of hearing those warm old refeed pumps. This made me sleep like a baby for the first time sine we grounded.
Probably a good thing. They used to push that pile of junk to tha max. Nevermind the fact that they used to go past "Dalema run" all the time. Feel bad for most of em' (aside from the obvious). Corporate always pushed these guys well past their limit's. rip
Ah gulley old bean sure don't I remember you well!! Wonder what happened to that fat kid that was always late for his shift....helluva chess player he was tho. And that shit of an overseer, remember the time we swapped we stole his hip flask and swapped it out for piss??? Ha ha...Good Times....
I switched to listening to this instead of music while studying. I find it extremely calming and not as distracting as music. It blots out ambient noise and still has a certain character to it that I just feel beautiful. Thanks for the upload!

this is strangely comforting when you live in a tiny apt with pitch black outside. It feels like the cramped quarters on a deep space freighter with the ever-present low roar of the engines. Then, I boot up Alien Isolation....
I did something like this almost 30 years ago on my Amiga with OctaMED, but it was a 15 minute loop of the ambience from the Narcissus shuttle at the opening of Aliens, with an occasional sweep of the laser scanner every few minutes, and a faint screen print now and then to break the monotony. Looped it on both sides of a 90 minute cassette and played it with auto reverse on all night. Very relaxing one you forgot what movie it was from.
I'd imagine it being awfully boring and mundane in the Alien timeline. It would be like living today and looking back at an 1800's man saying "i wish i was on one of those "buses", just sitting and watching the scenery pass".
Looking for something calming to listen to while I'm sleeping, I'm pretending I'm in my own spaceship, bound for the next galaxy while listening to this...so peaceful...
I pretend the same thing! I told my husband this about a year ago figuring he’d laugh and call me crazy, but instead he said he could see it in his mind too! And easy to sleep to.
Soothing... In a Company seminar, we were told how the ambient engine noise helps relax the crew and maximise productivity. We're just passing the Oort Cloud and have temporarily been out of Stasis to observe the birth of a comet. With the ship humming away, bathed in the ethereal light of distant suns, i'm feeling very chilled out.... like, y'know.... innit...
You don't have to pretend you are on a space ship while listening to this. You don't hear it, but we all ARE hurtling through space on a ship, planet Earth. This video just gives the perfect tone to the flight. Feel free to roam about the cabin, but when seated, please keep your seat belt securely fastened. The beverage menu is on a card in the seat pocket in front of you.
Listening to this I keep hearing Jerry Goldsmith's creepy title music. A friend of mine said he didn't like the long opening sequence with no dialogue, but I disagree as it beautifully sets up how alone they are in deep space. As the movies tag line says; "In space no one can hear you scream" unless of course that space is inside a movie theater. Ha-ha. All joking aside this one is relaxing as well. Even if I don't get but a few hours sleep these help me to get a deeper sleep and feel rested. Thank you.
You are very welcome. And I completely agree with you, that long quiet intro to the movie is one of my favorite parts about it. Glad to hear that these sounds help you get a more restful slumber.
This one is really cool. I went from being a overly hyped coffee drinking buffoon, to a calm spaceship sitting office worker. I like the StarTrek one also, but this one sounds more impressive. Thanks for uploading it!
What would make this extra cool would be that every once in awhile you hear the sound of the Alien getting ready to head bite someone with those hissing sounds etc :-)
The only thing that will be cut is your salary if you don't follow company orders. Now get back to the engine room and get us off from this god forsaken planet! Captain's orders.

Oh my gosh! You don't even know how long I've been looking for something like this! This is literally perfect ambient music for a huge section of my book where the characters are in a massive space carrier. Thank you for sharing!!
I worked on a oil rigg for many years and this sound remids me of going to bed and falling a sleep after 1 minute. Except when you voke up to alarms and aliens 😳
To a middle-aged Alien fanboy, this is more than worth the three dollars you're charging on bandcamp. Sold, son. Now pardon me while my nostalgia kicks in and I go watch both Alien(s) movies in a row and then play Alien: Isolation again.
I'll explain myself. Ever since I saw Aliens (thanks to my parents) on pay-per-view in the mid-80's (that was the Director's cut they showed on cable, btw, because I remember the turret scene), I've had this on-going fantasy of falling asleep aboard a spaceship. So, thank you for that. I'm sure I'll get bored with it eventually and want to hear the furnace on Fury 161.
I'm a car hauler and this is the best noise to sleep to it cancels the sound of my generator and even the truck engine if I leave it running over night when it's cold 🥶
Great ambient background noise. I'm just imagining that alien xenomorph and I hanging out on the Nostromo's bridge, smoking cigarettes, downing a few beers and just shootin' the BS as we look out over the galactic plane contemplating our small and brief existence in such an absurd, amoralistic universe. It's enough to give you a bad case of ennui.
Vulcanscienceacademy Thanks, I'm glad you like it. I agree too, like I have told some other people, this sound is really relaxing if you are pretending that you are one of the aliens.
I think it should end with the sounds of the computer suddenly logging on automatically after receiving the mysterious SOS signal, like at the beginning of the film.
Twelve hours? We won't last twelve minutes with that thing on board!!!
Seventeen *days?* Hey man, I don't wanna rain on your parade, but we're not gonna last seventeen *hours!* Those things are gonna come in here just like they did before. And they're gonna come in here...
crysknife007 Calm down, Hudson.
...and they're gonna come in here AND THEY'RE GONNA GET US!
crysknife007 Hudson! This little girl survived longer than that with no weapons and no training. Right?
Game over man, GAME OVER !!!
