Recently got one. 2 thumbs up. I noticed that the black coating on my F1d runs very close to the edge than my other fixed blades with coating on them. Take a moment to strop your new knives before hard use. I guess it's suppose to help limit minor chipping to occur.
I've got the 3g steel version of the F1 and love it. I've watched a bunch of reviews where guys slam it for a lot of issues, but I love mine. You do have to have a good strop to maintain it though.
It seems to be a great knife but is out of my price range. Thanks for reviewing this knife. I like to see the characteristics of, and expectations for a camp knife.
Agreed, 3 1/2 to 5 1/2 is my favorite blade size now, big knives are fun but honestly a good 5 inch blade can do pretty much anything ya need. Heck if you're smart you can chop a ten inch tree down with a good solid built convex-scandi. I tell ya man those Fallkniven knives look awesome but I'm so impressed with my Garberg esp getting for $56, IMHO its pretty much the same caliber of knife for a lot less. I also got the Strongarm coming soon, you've sold lots of knives for these companies LOL😂 Thanks for making my mouth water...yum.
Excellent video my friend,im buying the Falkniven F1 basic model but I have very big hands triple X gloves and the handle might be too small.Im a hunter and I can't make my mind up between the Enzo trapper and Falkniven F1.Would you really really recommend this knife.Stay safe.
What’s up brother I wanted one of them super bad but missed out haven’t had the funds lately but hope to get one someday!!! Nice review hope you and the family are well keep it up my friend
I've been considering getting a Fallkniven knife (not sure which one), but I'm a little worried about maintaining the convex edge. How have you maintained the edge on yours?
Sean B, make yourself a strop block, and get some green buffing compound for the leather side. I like to put some 1000 grit automotive sandpaper on the other side of my strop block. Look up stropping technique on UA-cam. It’s pretty easy...the key to stropping is to use light pressure; if you use too much pressure you can dull the edge. Stropping is all you’ll ever really need to do to keep it really sharp, as long as you don’t let the edge get too dull.
Best steel and the F1’s perfect bushcrafting geometry. Too bad this ugly thing is getting discontinued by Fallkniven. Better buy it while you can. Probably going to shoot up in value once it’s no longer available.
The best F1 on the market. Old design with the pro series steel. ;)
Love the awesome steel upgrade on the standard F1 platform
She's still runnin' strong and sharp!!! Coating holding up as well.🤺

Keep up the great work bud. Genuinely have to complain that you only made me all the more hungry for the f1 pro, and the food haha
lol
Video quality has gone up in your recent vids. Good job. Keep it up

Great stuff Ben. What was the pot you were using?
Nice knife, but I think I still prefer my Gerber Strongarm... how are they in comparison?
The F1 has better edge retention and is smaller so a bit easier for finer work. The Strongarm is heavier with a flat grind and pointed pommel.
Living Survival would it be good for Field dressing deer?
Too bad they don’t make it any more. I do like the grind. Of course the steel. The new F1x same steel with removable handle scales
Damn steak for lunch! Looks good nice knife too
Okay! that seems like an excellent knife. Now I want some meat. Good video partner.
thanks.
Great Review Ben ! Ive got one of these on its way in the mail and am stoked ! Cheers My Friend !! ,,,,,Spook

nice review man, keep it up
Right On.. Looks good..
Using the knife to cut in a teflon pan... I know you can always buy another pan, but... but... :)
How would you sharpen a knife like this?

Sorry, but I lose interest when i see someone cutting food in a pan! Great way to damage the pan and screw up the knife edge.
Howard Varley if you’re buying knives that would get messed up by that then no need to watch.
Gg
OH YEA, big ole hunk of meat YUMMY
thanks.
Slammin
damn, forgot to say it. lol.
Living Survival that's okay I would be distracted by that steak to
