Clonidine also increases GABA significantly in certain brain regions. Thats one difference between it and guanfacine. And why its also used for anxiety and panic attacks.
You should not thank him. Just ask your psychiatrist he will told you that clonidine decrease dopamine and noradrenaline that’s why your blood pressure goes down. If you want quick response just google it : effect of clonidine on dopamine. You will see. This guy he’s a fake dr . Report him
Clonidine absolutely helped me stop the urge for cigarettes 🚬. At first it was given to me for my high blood pressure. I noticed that I didn’t feel the need to smoke. I soon found out that it helps in the cessation of smoking withdrawal symptoms. But my urge just left me LOL! It’s only 0.1 mg. But it’s MIGHTY.
I'm going to beg my Dr for this as I currently have hypertension and being medicated for it but also on a very long waiting list for my ADHD diagnosis and treatment. This could be really helpful for returning to university in September. I hope they prescribe it here in the UK.
2:09 how can activation of alpha 2 receptors increase noradrenaline, shouldnt it decrease nor adrenaline cause alpha 2 is Gi and it inhibits release of neurotransmitter and this is why it decreaes sympathetic outflow from brain
It can modulate release in certain brain regions as the term "agonist" means it can increase or decrease the amount of a neurotransmitter depending on many factors. This medication can also increase GABA in certain brain regions quiye significantly which has been shown to play quite a big role in both ADHD and Autism. (Low amounts that is)
Your right! Honestly I don’t think this guy is a dr. 1. Clonidine do not increase dopamine at all 2. Clonidine decrease noradrenaline. How I know that ? I just ask my doctor. Be careful lot of people say bullsh** on UA-cam
There's a downstream effect in where norepinephrine signaling gets stronger although there's less norepinephrine. Meaning what's left gets utilized better
Hi doc just started taking it. I have to take 100 mg at night. Is that too much as I do have ADHD and I do take 12 5 mg tablets and I also take. And I also take three times a day Lyrica 300 mg. What do you think? Do?
Hi Paul, cannot give specific advice over the internet best to see your doctor. All I can say is generally clonidine 100 micrograms mcg (not milligrams mg) is a pretty standard dose.
0.3mg of clonidine is within the therapeutic range, but whether that would be ok for you will depend on your specific case. Please see your doctor if any side effects!
My son has ADHD. His doctor recently prescribed him Risperidone along with Clonodine but I haven’t given these to him yet. My son has behavioral issues as well but I saw a kid with the side effects of Ridperidone and don’t think I should trust it.
I know strangley enough it has been shown to help with vivid dreams and reduce REM sleep. But same here. I dont mind them so I haven't stopped taking it as i get much better sleep than before and the benifets definitely put way the downsided for me. Thankfully i dont get nightmares from it.
@@vwvqr Your brain operates on vitamins and minerals, it doesn't operate on pharmaceutical drugs. Sure you can take drugs to knock you out and go to sleep, but they're not safe for the brain.

no thanks
This is just treating the symptoms and not the cause of insomnia. Take B12, B6, and magnesium, because low levels of these can cause insomnia.
You're acting like those supplements will solve all insomnia cases. Hate to break it to you, but there are many other causes

Do you genuinely think these things haven’t been tried?
@@MsChampagneSanityApparently you haven't tried them, or you wouldn't be taking drugs. Or if you did, you didn't take high enough doses.
Can i take Clonidine toogether with Buprinion??
You will need to speak to your doctor for your specific circumstance but they have been taken together in certain situations.
My doctor have given me Ritalin and Clonidine with Bupropion, so I guess you can.
