- I apologize for the extreme delay in the video production. Unfortunately adding insult to injury, ALL of my process and videoing for the PT.2 has been corrupted so instead. I talk about how i restored it and painted it as well as how this machine functions. With the process on how I rebuilt it.
That was a wonderful video ,I'm currently working on a McCormick no6 with no skills
Great video thumbs 👍
I normally don’t watch these types of things but this one I actually in joyed watching! 😂
It is a team mower. I never seen single horse mower. I grew up using one.
I have the same mower. I use mine and That tongue you have there won't last 5 minutes. You need oak, ash, hickory. Softwood will snap in any sort of real heavy mowing or a clog. If you want to see one in field ready shape I just posted a video a few days ago.
You need to see a complete lift mechanism sir. I listened to your description of the lifting lever and you seem to have a wrong idea of how it functions.
Looks like you put a lot of effort in it. Love your vids bud🙏👌
I think you will find that is new Ideal ,not new idea .I have one that I hanged to a power take off cart to run my two spinner Tedder with y horses , my uncle had one of these that he mowed with for many yrs. They were a very good machine .
cottagecraftworks.com will sell you whatever parts you need to get her back up and running. All parts still produced by the Amish as they use these still today in their everyday life!
Lookin good brother love your vids🙏
Hey bro , I really like your video! My grandpa gave me an old No.7 mower about a year ago and I’ve been restoring it. I’m about to the stage of painting it and I was wondering if you used primer or just straight paint. I got a good deal on a gallon of Majic paint and I’m not sure if I needed primer or not. Thanks for your time!
That’s a good question it’s always a good idea to prime any type of metal you are painting however, there are some paints out there that can be directly applied to metal. because they have the primer mixed in with it. I would also highly suggest trying to sandblast it, making sure the paint can get to freshly cleaned metal
@@coyotecolors hey thanks for the reply! I’ve been cleaning everything with a wire brush on a angle grinder and drill. I’ve asked a few people that have painted tractors, equipment, etc and they said to prime everything. Just one more question, I was thinking about getting a needle scaler to sandblast some parts. How would you recommend sandblasting?
@@coyotecolors I’ve also been soaking parts in evapo-rust, it seems to be working good as well.
I would try getting a independent sandblaster sprayer that hooks up to an air compressor. Make sure you have one that has a very big compression rate and get very good media for spraying all the metal some thing that’s pretty course.
@@coyotecolors Ok, thank you for the info! I’ll talk to my grandpa about using his sandblaster. I would like to sandblast it but the “sand” it uses is like $50 a bag. Parts seem to be pretty hard to find for these old things. I know of 1 supplier and that’s it. Maybe I’ll find someone with an old one for parts. Thanks for responding!
