Look at the Led Zeppelin's concert at the O2 Arena in 2007 and see how "shot" his voice and how he "whispers". The truth is: he DID lost his range as far as in 1973 (look at How The West Was Won concert in 1972 and The Song Remains The Same concert in 1973 - he by then already lost his voice pretty significally). But in the late 80's-early 90's he began to recover his voice, and he managed to do it quite well. And he has another problem: when he tries to sing softly, he begins to sound like the old man, you know. I guess it's just age. But sometimes it actually gives songs a mature feel kinda.
Remarkable I just saw him and heard him and I can attest he is a singular talent. Great lyrics and his voice is still powerful and beautiful. i was shocked
Robert Plant has always had a beautiful voice. I don’t even know how to rationalize his voice in human terms. I really feel like he raises his vibrations to reach the divine and brings down some of that light in his voice. It’s otherworldly and I can’t explain it.
Robert still has that stance, that mystique, and that one of kind voice. Awesome that we can still experience it. He still has it. The best rock and roll front man of all time.

He is amazing. This song sounds wonderful. Nope folks, a mid 60’s voice is not going to sound the same as that of someone in their 30’s. But it most definitely not better or worse. It’s just different. Hell, Robert Plant 1969 sounded quite different than 1973. Of the groups and older rockers that are still out touring there are those, even in their 70s, who really have it. And this dude is one of them. I was watching a Dead and Company video when I came across this. I am a huge Bob Weir fan. But it is sad to see. I saw a recent Who concert. Pretty damn cool. I guess 70 is the new 60!!!

Me too! On one hand I love that he puts out new things with Allison Krauss and his own Band of Joy and doesn't rest on his Zeppelin laurels. I've been seeing him solo since Principle of Moments, Pictures at 11, and Non Stop-Go days. That's a long time. Sadly I haven't seen him in yrs. On the other hand I pray for even a limited Zeppelin reunion with Jason Bonham on drums. 20-25 cities. I'd sell my soul. Sadly even though he's in good shape, Jimmy Page is almost 80. Tick tock

In its time, this song was pure magic, bells of heaven pealing from my speakers. It’s hard to put it in that perspective again today. Led Zeppelin recorded so many masterpieces it is hard to recount them. Their output transformed the art of record production no less than did the Beatles’.

After that, Page decided only he should get producer credit and LZIII certainly showed him how wrong he was. LZIV reflected much learning, once again sounding heavenly. Even for LZ, it’s a rocky road trying to maintain the best. Ego is a very solid brick wall.

Tastefully done, Robert’s musical talent is more than just his vocals, he has perfect timing (and always had) by listening to all the other musicians, that is always the key to playing with others. We need more musicians playing in real time these days. I’m a rock fan in my 50’s, my favorite stuff has always been live one take recordings.Artists that can bash out a song or whole show live with no gimmicks to fix mistakes are always interesting to listen to, the real deal! Nice!

I've always said what Led Zeppelin created was beyond mere music, it was truly something supernatural. Allison and Robert have tapped into that and given us something that at least approaches that. .
Robert has always gone between genres, right back to the first Zep album. What’s really great is hearing Alison stepping effortlessly beyond the rather strict confines of bluegrass.
Plant is astounding. Alison is wonderful, to be sure, but Robert is an ageless musical magician.
