Would you consider interviewing a non-traditional non-trad? I am going to go back to school 2024 when I have my family taken care of. I want to go to medical school to become a family physician. My Pre-Med advisor told me to choose a different path in life. I will not. I want to practice family medicine if it kills me.
I was initially working on my personal statement by itself, and was struggling. When I started to run out of time, I was also working on my work/activities section. Work on the PS and WA essays together really helped make all my essays stronger vs working on them separately.
Side note, on people who make religious statements in their PS I noticed sometimes people with a certain ethnic background, seem to hate on Muslim statements. Bro please keep your political and racial assumptions out of Dr Grays reviews in the comments. It's like hindutva WhatsApp chats made it into his space. Those students you're drawing assumptions about are still your fellow Americans and classmates. Do better.
How can you have a 3.91 gpa but score so low in the science sections of the MCAT? It’s a signal she never truly grasped the fundamental concepts in classes and use short term memorization to sneak by imo. All she needs is to learn the way AAMC writes their tests and I think she can get a 510 at least.
I beg to differ, she may have a very strong grasp on the concept but like you said be lacking in reading comprehension. Totally different from content grasp. Not knowing what exactly the question is asked can be detrimental to a score. Caveat though, she did recognize content gaps in the beginning.
MCAT is completely different… you can score 125/126 on bio/biochem and still do strong in classes because you actually have the time to study and grind through the material.

Please bring on more MD/PhD applicants! There is so little information out there about this.

I can relate to this so much! Advisors can really kill our dreams sometimes. I definitely agree that more truly non-trad content would be helpful.
