Enjoy your plein aire paintings! I live in USA, pennsylvania. Just started watercolor painting again. Tried before, was working at the time and had no patience. Now 81, and am enjoying every minute! Greeting cards for my family, gifts of my art for Christmas. I’m learning so much from you and other artists on You Tube. Amazon has been my go to shopping for supplies. View finder is just one of my favorite tools! THANK YOU!
Nice! Another great video. Poppy needs her own adventure series. Enjoyed the history lesson, sets your videos above! Enjoyed watching you and Sunny create! Also, the finishing touches were made a big difference, what a gift of sharing how to lighten. ✨❤️💋
You and Sunny are fun together. What a beautiful place!!! Thanks for taking us along. It is so nice to see a part of the world. I probably will never get to.
Leslie, You are my absolute favorite UA-cam artist and of all your videos so far, this is my favorite! Every aspect gives such joy! Thank you for sharing your artistry with all of us. Please give Poppy a hug for me! Sending gratitude from Maryland.
So interesting. The Pomeroys are part of my heritage. This is part of my ancestry story. Henry the Eighth is my Great. Great.(However many Greats need to be added. ). Grand father. I believe this Pomeroy was my Great, Great etc. Grandmother. I need to look at the family tree to get confirmation. I also need to double check with my two sisters. They gave me this information five years ago. Very beautiful painting of the castle. I will read up and look back. I will tell my sisters about this castle. I am 65 years old. This is my Father's side of the family. Thank you so much for sharing.❤
Wow, that’s amazing to be able to trace your lineage this far back. I know that one of the Pomeroy women (mother of the last male to live there) remained here until her death. You really must visit! ❤
I love your tiny paintings! What a gorgeous day you had - I’ve never visited Berry Pomeroy Castle but it’s definitely going on the list! Thanks for the introduction 😊
You're welcome! It's small compared to many other castles, but I love how intimate it is and that you can actually (at times) have the whole castle to yourself!
I truly enjoyed seeing you and Sunny sketching/painting there! What a fascinating place with so much history. It made my heart so happy to see you went there and did your painting. :) Paula
Well you did it.. made an eerie scene into a tutorisl for lights & Darks-(contrast).a very nice choice of view.. plus I really enjoyed the history of the building as well.. Good on ya again!
I think there are ghosts and my only wish is that I never see one! Lovely little film and very interesting to see how a few small finishing touches can transform a painting 🤗
Leslie thank you 🙏🏼 it was the back to school for my son today and honestly even it's late here (22h00) your video is at the perfect timing for me 🤷♀️😁🤦♀️ I've enjoyed the historical side the search for Poppy the painting and of course the last touches of gouache and of course your castell is magnifique 😉 Bises
Poppy the dog is so cute! She was on a lead, after all 😅😊. Your friend Sunny is sooo bubbly/happy. I like her urban sketches. Wish I could paint like that. My paintings are just blobs. 😂
You can learn! Sunny is a professional illustrator, so you can't compare-- she's brilliant, but has also logged in thousands of hours of art over the years. ☺
In the winter when I was there the castle was closed except for a few workers on the grounds... and then they disappeared and suddenly things felt very different. I hightailed it out of there! But when people are around it feels a lot less scary. 👻
Leslie could you do a video about the gouache in your tiny pallet? Like can you dry down all kinds of gouache just like watercolor? Or if you’ve done a video maybe a link please?
This is the video where I set up this little gouache palette. I also have an “Everything I Know About Gouache” video on my Patreon. 😊 ua-cam.com/video/jT90M6CbYE4/v-deo.htmlsi=N5hW-n5sNHbj_PaX
This is a very good choice of a perfect scene for painting.only a main gate with some round shaped bushes through which we entre in a castle of ghost , if i would came here to meet that ghost i would only prefer a cup of tea and do not want ghost to scare me
Oh that's a story ........but if get a more free time you must visit our country where I lived that is India and state is Punjab . Here you we get many beautiful places especially in chandigarh like rose garden,Japanese garden etc.our all temples have a great history
Here is a plein air painting tip about how to stay safe and comfortable when out in your car plein air painting and car camping. You can always park overnight in the parking lot of a Catholic Church. Anywhere in the world. In fact, if you get sick, become stranded somewhere by yourself or even somewhere in your broken down car, or if somebody steals your wallet or are cold wet or hungry, pull into the parking lot of the Catholic Church and call the parish center of your local Catholic Church. No matter what, The priest will ALWAYS answer the door, and let you in and talk to you, feed you, and find a safe place within the church to stay, take care of you if you are sick, give you whatever help he can give you, solve very complicated problems, and even arrange to have someone pick you up if you are stranded and bring you to the Church. My mother taught me that whenever you are in a strange town or city at home or anywhere in the world, you will always find a Catholic Church and there is always a priest on duty 24-7.
So my mom always taught me that the first thing you should always do when you are travelling to a new place to assure your safety as a single woman travelling alone is FIND and locate the nearest local Catholic Church, Because anything can go awry.
Leslie, Hi, can you tell me how / what you use to film when you are painting please. It looks great as if we were wearing your eyes so to speak. Nice work at BP, thanks for filming it. Pete
I use my iPhone and have a little harness/neck thing I wear around my neck that the phone attaches to. In the past I’ve used a scarf to hold my phone. I also tried a chest harness for awhile, but it was uncomfortable.
@@LeslieStroz Thank you, did you make it or is it available for phones in general? BTW I visited Stover Park today with members of the Devon Art Society, they have a lot of groundwork going on but facilities are still available. We had a lovely several hours surrounded by ducks, Moorhens, Cootes and inquisitive squirrels. Well worth a visit. It is close to Trago Mills. Happy painting.
Watched this fabulous video really enjoyed going with you both to the castle. I now want to visit. Do believe in 👻 lol. Can I ask where you get small watercolour journals from? 😊
This one is made by a company called InkBerry specifically for GoDraw (the palette). If you go to the Go_Draw Instagram, they have a link to their Worldwide store.
I'm currently filming my fourth documentary about the ghosts and spirits with mediums which is called The Many Ghosts of Berry Pomeroy Castle which I have 3 documentaries on UA-cam. Lot's of ghosts and spirits and phenomena often. I've seen Margaret Pomeroy The White Lady 3 years ago.
Hi there! What a beautiful place! I always enjoy your tiny painting videos … I have to say, though, I would have preferred to see that you were more responsible for your dog’s whereabouts, especially as there were other people about and you were at a historical site… Did you go and see whether she left any “deposits” whilst she was not with you that needed cleaning up??? I know I sound like a harpy, and I apologise for that… I suppose I was just a bit disappointed…
Do you believe in ghosts? Would you paint here if you were alone? 😳
Yes! And my granddaughter wants to go right now! Lol. We're in the US so she'll have to wait 😂
I believe in spirits
No wayyyyyyy 🤣🤣🤣 but with Poppy by my side of course 😉
@@selenep1193 Something to look forward to! :)
@@-MEL16-A.O.C She is clearly a ghost sympathiser. ;)
Maybe on a bright sunny morning.

Thank you! I think Poppy needs a little collar with a GoPro so we can see what she gets up to! 🙂
Thanks for the history-the castle’s and yours with the castle. Lovely painting thanks for sharing.
You and Sunny are fun together. What a beautiful place!!! Thanks for taking us along. It is so nice to see a part of the world. I probably will never get to.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I debated about whether or not to add the longer ending, but I hoped some people would find it beneficial. :)
A ghost tried to kidnap Poppy ? I think they should make the sign clear with saying alive people need to be in the other end 😂
So true! A ghost took her for a walk. 👻🐶
I’m only a few seconds in, the video shots, the music, your soothing voice. I know as usual it’s going to be another good one.
Awww ❤
Love the video , love your art 😊
Thank you for this video! Could you tell me how you film yourself while painting? It looks so smooth and steady.
Perfectly in time for spooky season

I hadn’t seen your gouache Demi palette yet!
I love it so much- I’ve used it a few times, but maybe more on Patreon. 🤔
Thanks for taking us to these beautiful places. Ghosts and all. 😂. Yes I believe in ghosts.
My granddaughter loves the first music you chose while you were painting. She thought it sounded Irish. Could you share what it is, please?
It's called "Forest Myths" by Deskant. I listed all of the songs in the description, so you can find them there. 🎶

They say that the one female (The Blue Lady) is mostly just sad and looking for her child. But I've felt a not-so-welcoming presence too. 👻

Was that introduction to the castle an intro for UA-cam or an intro for a dungeons and dragons session?
Whats the song you used in the background while painting?
I just posted a list of all of the songs in the description... I used a few different ones for painting, but you can find them all there. :)
