- Managing the runoff of storm water is a huge job for the Public Works Department in Victoria, Texas. At one time, an entire section of the city was flooded by rainwater headed for the Guadalupe River - a waterway where people typically enjoy tubing, kayaking, canoeing and fishing. An ongoing effort by the Victoria Public Works Department is designed to preserve the waterway and its surrounding areas as a city asset. A new XL 4100 IV Gradall excavator, equipped with a 66-inch ditching bucket as well as a grapple, is a critical tool in Victoria's flood control efforts.
Also, a new XL 5100IV with boom extension clears debris where other machines cannot. The Nueces County Drainage District No. 2 faces the intimidating assignment of keeping about 300 miles of drainage ditches clear in south Texas. When the district is not reacting to storms and flooding, handling the emergency removal of debris and vegetation, workers stay busy clearing away materials and cleaning ditches before the next storm arrives.
I'm STILL struggling to understand what this does that a backhoe or excavator CAN'T?? Is it the mobility factor??
Its mobility as well as the reduced clearance and the digging force remains the same throughout the dig cycle due to the way the boom is set up
It's nice you guys are posting these videos there aren't very many on youtube. I've been thinking of getting my own Gradall for a while as there is a lot of ditching work that goes on in the city that I work in. Keep up the good work.
Медленно работает
Really would have rather heard the engine then the music. How come such a big rig for such a small job? Could have done this with an old 2460.
Under the overpass - grossed me tf out. Lol
Need to put a limb shear on and get rid of them branches
