Omg I've seen the soldering before... but all the stuff you did in PC-3000 looks like magic to me 😂 it's insane that you were able to get all the files with 0 errors in the end. I bet the customer is very happy 🙂

The data re-assembly is interesting to try to follow, I'm not sure how many other folks would like to follow a longer vid where you can show more detail about why you make the choices you make but I would.
Having said that... Couldn't you use your PC3000 to reverse engineer a schematic from a known good card by manually feeding the bits to the standard interface and watching what the IO pins do? I'm not sure someone would like to pay for that research but maybe its worthwhile to attempt?

    • @redangrybird7564

Perhaps to put pressure on the manufacturer to release the squematics soon after the release of the device.

@@hddrecoveryservices Yea, that's something that would make it worth doing I suppose considering all the time it would take to put it together. But it's a really small crowd that appreciates this kind of stuff. :) I'm just a spectator, I'll never actually do any of this, I just like to see how things are done. I have a USB Stick with a failed controller with data that is more a "nice to have" than actually important, and I cannot for the life of me get a suitable donor for it, since it's a few years old, and was right before the switch from USB 3.0 to 3.2. I also cannot find any references to the used Hynix memory chip. Should I try another Stick with a different controller, or would I have to bite the bullet any pay the hefty price of chip-off-recovery, which I cannot do at home?
