How do you take your IC-705 mobile?

- I've tried a lot of solutions for the IC-705 and really haven't been 100% happy with any of them. Depending on the situation and how much gear I want to take I might a different sized backpack. From Apache cases, padded sleeves, custom cases. They all had their ups and downs. I think this solution is going to work for me.

I have the peovi cage. I put it into a Plano 131250 ammo can. I then put a hankie on top, where I put the mic. This is the smallest, most protected box I could find. And, its waterproof, which I prefer.
That cover looks great! I bought my 705 used and it came with the Peovi. I use the 19” Domke with it too. I keep my 705 in a camera backpack I got on Amazon that has padding and adjustable sections. It fits everything I need, including antennas, batter, mast, etc.
That is an excellent use for the 3-D printer. I need to find a design for the cover of my new QMX radio. Thanks for the ideas. 73s
I check printables.com or thingiverse.com. There are a couple out there. If you don't have a printer send link and I can print it.
Here's my Video: "IC-705: The UPGRADED Go Bag I've Been Waiting For!" - I've added a small towel over the screen and placed my Tiny SA/NanoVNA go bag in the case now as well.
I did link to your video. I was so close to pulling the trigger on the Windcamp and that bag, but since I use different packs for different purposes, I wanted something that I could use with each pack.
@@TangoOscarMikeN3WS thanks, didn't get to the description
Nice! You should consider printing a backcover so you have a real box! And you don't need the wrap anymore if it's all boxed :)
I did see this full enclosure. www.printables.com/model/622210-icom-ic-705-transport-rugged-box. The cover I printed took 14 hours. I imagine this would take a few days.
I ordered a JCase 705 from a dealer in my country. Unfortunately, both the KEY, TUNER and SEND/ALC connectors (TRS) turned out to be incorrectly connected. They were connected as mono, although it should be stereo. (Chinese junk?)
I had issue with my mic connector and had to figure out a replacement for it. I still like the case for road trip protection.
