  • Replacing a fuel pump is a hassle because draining and dropping a tank is a pain. Removing a bed is a huge process even if the bed bolts aren’t rusted. Cutting an access hatch is fast and makes follow up repairs a breeze!👌

    Do not do this on a 2003 F150 Supercab (the one with small rear doors) 4.6 V8. The pump cannot be accessed due to a large support beam tack welded to the bed. The fuel tank must be removed,or the bed removed, to replace the fuel pump.

    Is this where you’d fix the valve to switch tanks?

    • @TheMinuteMasters
      @TheMinuteMasters  Рік тому

      I forget where the cut off is, but at some point in the 90s switching from one tank to the other was not done by a valve. It was just controlled by the switch next to the steering wheel.
      I’m told if yours is old enough to have the valve it’s typically situated underneath the driver side cab in the frame rail.

    Can you give me the dimensions in inches for your cut out, front and rear tank?🙏🏾

    • @TheMinuteMasters
      @TheMinuteMasters  Рік тому +1

      I would have to get back to you. Unfortunately not all has tanks are position the same and you could be a inch or two off.
      Measuring for the hole is easier than it looks. Crawl under the truck with a tape measure and measure from the back of the bed to the center of the pump. That’s your first dimension.
      For the other dimension, I counted the number of bed floor ridges over from the drivers side to the center of the pump. Do this from under the bed as well.
