The top of the machine did not have to come off. Using a short stubby screwdriver would have saved a lot of time. I have over 27years of copier experience and have worked on this line of machines and several others. Time is money in this line of work. Get a short screwdriver and keep that in your tool bag. All of that scanner and cable removal was Un neccessary. The laser once out can be cleaned and 1 light drop of oil can be applied to the air bushing the polygonal mirror rotates on. The error code generates from the inability of the motor to maintain rotation requirements.

hello i have a keyocera km2053 and shows 4200 error ,sometimes after closing by switch it works ok sometimes it shows a4200 error.wthat is the problematic part .If you could make a video you would be my hero .i dont have money to buy enother and the technician want the half rice of th emacine to repair it .

Poor contact in the connector terminals. Check the connection of connector YC8 on the engine PWB and laser scanner unit, and the continuity across the connector terminals. Repair or replace if necessary. Defective laser scanner unit. Replace the laser scanner unit. Defective engine PWB. Replace the engine PWB and check for correct operation.
