    @BboyHunter10 hey man you got a video of your progress? or any specific questions?
    the key to getting windmills or any powermove is dedication and practice, also try filming yourself so you can see what youre doing wrong..... but for sure i would be glad to help! send me a video link or ask any question you want!

  • @FocusedLucas
    @FocusedLucas  13 років тому +2

    @virtualv93 also if youre going for no hands, then try and find a soft surface and just go for it, i say soft cause it might hurt the first few times when youre getting used to it.
    just keep practicing and feel free to ask me any other questions along the way!

      pigmie can i do it on any kind of florr?

  • @FocusedLucas
    @FocusedLucas  13 років тому +1

    @zittotu96 thanks for watchin! maybe try to roll more, and try to keep your elbows/ arms more tight into your body so they are not stopping your windmill. also think about incorporating the hop/ bounce i talk about at 3:30 i hope this helps, feel free to ask more!

  • @FocusedLucas
    @FocusedLucas  13 років тому +1

    @zittotu96 yea just keep working on it and try to roll on your shoulder not smack it so i doesn't hurt, it might take time so maybe practice on a very soft surface at first. yes your head CAN touch the floor, but it doesn't need to... usually if youre going to touch the head to the floor, it would be right when your coming over, it will act like one of your arms helping you get to the other side, keeping it fluid so it flows. hope this helps! @BboyZeus95 yes just like "LikeHellaHellaLike" (lol) said try to keep moving no matter what...get it in your head think about it.... also watch and study 3:25 in the tutorial where i talk about the "bounce" try to think about that and incorporate that into your windmill .....
    hope this helps!

    I just 12 years old and just can baby freeze, freeze, shoulder freeze, chair, side baby, chop/cop stand, hand stand, sanddrill, W, turtle freeze. I just can do that all, but you older than me just a little but you can flare and windmill?!! amazing you teach me a lot. From Teguh Tanudjaya/Stunner, [S.R.T]CREW, Surabaya, Indonesia :)

    Best windmill tutorial i have seen on UA-cam. I almost got it. I can easily go from the freeze position and start spinning, but I am currently practicing getting back to starting position and making continous windmills

    Man you tutorials are so clear. I hit a wall after 9 months of bboying and only got a single windmill rotation down, and some other powers. Can't wait to get back to the ground

  • @FocusedLucas
    @FocusedLucas  13 років тому +1

    @dabbuful hey man the material im using is a peg board like that found in a garage that you hang tools on, but its silver not white, its not really the best surface to be honest, umm youve got to experiment, ive heard linoleum is a good bboy surface, and hmm maybe if you take your cardboard and duct tape it down to the ground tightly then it wont move around and tear.... good luck surfaces are always a pain lol!

    @AznPbPro with that being said be sure not to do more than you can handle for safety! ok now the windmill stuff lol... try to keep everything tight and dont let any part of your body get to far away from your other parts for example dont throw your legs and hips and weight too long to transfer, maybe try to go slower but dont get stuck in the freeze position use ur arms to guide u... and film yourself so you can see what you look like and can make improvements... hope this helps ask more ifneed!

  • @FocusedLucas
    @FocusedLucas  13 років тому +1

    @KMaMaa the bounce is kind of like when you sit on your butt and then roll to your back and push your legs up.... just do this when your doing the windmill, if you get used to it it will help!

  • @FocusedLucas

    @pakupaul i can do like one halo off of a windmill but i cant do continuous ones.... i never really practiced them.... I should :(....and yes you don't need halos for airflares, hell you don't need any "pre-move" for any advanced move, just dedication!

  • @FocusedLucas
    @FocusedLucas  13 років тому +1

    @Sealandnatics364 you should put force everywhere keeping your whole body focused, let the momentum carry you from your hips through your legs. also keep your arms tight and focused dont flop you need to be complete to complete this

  • @FocusedLucas
    @FocusedLucas  13 років тому

    @AznPbPro hey man freezes can involve many muscles in the arm, chest, shoulder, abs etc. the best way to work out to get better freezes is honestly just to practice freezes. I do weight train though, mainly the basic compound movements, i.e. bench press, squats, etc... but i only weight train once a week at the end before i take 1-2 days off from any heavy activity including bboy practice.... this works for me, youve got to find what works for you but DONT OVER TRAIN! you can only recoverso fast

  • @FocusedLucas
    @FocusedLucas  13 років тому +1

    @AnthonyA904 thats ok, its probably just your body figuring out how to do the new movement, over time with practice your form will get better

  • @FocusedLucas
    @FocusedLucas  13 років тому +1

    @BohAraki just have your non kicking leg flowing if you know what i mean, you can have it help you get higher so you can roll over, just do what feels right, keep practicing and youll start to feel what you need to do

  • @FocusedLucas
    @FocusedLucas  13 років тому

    @popol7ik hey man lay back on the ground and bring your legs towards your face but have them up, this is what they should be like when your on your back, now roll over and get in the stabbing position and get your legs off the ground, thats where you need to be when you turn over, to get there what might help is at 3:22 which is the "hop" i talk about, maybe practice that and feel free to post a vid of your windmill so i could see and help first hand! i hope this helps feel free to ask more!

  • @FocusedLucas
    @FocusedLucas  13 років тому +1

    @TheMassiveMooncake hey i know what you mean.... to get over this it might take a mental sort of break through, so if you really really concentrate on just continuing and go for it you will probably get it, it might feel uncomfortable the first few times but just keep going with it, maybe try not to stab at all and see what happens.... also maybe try the bounce thing i talk about at 3:25 ish... hope this helps!

  • @FocusedLucas
    @FocusedLucas  13 років тому +1

    @ThePopper96 thanks!, the roll, try to watch the first part of the tutorial at 1:40 where i show you if your having difficulty doing the roll... practice this over untill you feel comfortable, and then try to go at it from the baby freeze position, ...also maybe try and go in it from a backspin 2:40 hope this helps!

  • @FocusedLucas
    @FocusedLucas  13 років тому +1

    @BBoyChrispy hey man this happens a lot, what might be wrong is that you have the "put my foot on the ground" into your muscle memory and in your brain! you might just need to try to forget about it and you will have it!... try and go into the windmill a different way than you normally would, from standing up, from a backspin!, from sitting on your butt, this might trick your mind and you might get it.....just keep practicing and tell me if this helps!

  • @FocusedLucas

  • @FocusedLucas
    @FocusedLucas  13 років тому +1

    @swabby1212 hey man thanks! yes your hips could be too low, try bringing up your whole lower body, and damn! left shoulder bleeding! maybe practice on cardboard over carpet or something soft, and get a sweatshirt! and some layers underneath!... maybe try the bounce thing i talk about at around 3:25 ish.... try to study that, and try to focus on keeping your legs up and staying on your upper back and shoulders, also film yourself to see what you look like! hope this helps!

  • @FocusedLucas
    @FocusedLucas  13 років тому +1

    @BEAT4EVA YEA! hey man what up!?....From what it looks like i think your practicing the right amount 30 mins is great, and you giving it your all every time makes it a quality practice! when your out of energy you should stop like you are doing, cause you really dont want to over train, this can lead to problems like injuries and stuff, so i think youre doing perfectly now, just keep it up and you will get your moves in no time!

    I can already do windmills as I teach at a local company, but I'm just amazed that you can simplify it, being only 17, when I try to explain the windmill to the boys I sound like a crazed old person, but damn there you go, I got to get that down!

    @shadowmaster90000 carboard over carpet is great for beginning because it is soft yet slippery, i have two 4 by 8ft peg boards taped together, its not the best but its slippery

  • @FocusedLucas
    @FocusedLucas  13 років тому +1

    @kevindatangsta haha dang, that happened to me too believe it or not when i first started, just really try to keep on your upper back/ shoulders so that when you fall, you just go on your back. if it takes a while to get used to maybe try practicing on cardboard over grass or carpet, something soft, but slippery! but keep it up, if you have 2-3 its only a matter of very short time until you will have continuous all the time easily!

    @bboyhalog hey man, I know what you mean when your hips are hitting the floor, try to keep your general feel of the windmill on your upper back, shoulders, and try to incorporate a little hop that i talked about at 3:30 in the tutorial, notice how i go up and then back down keeping my hips up and coming down on my shoulders, maybe try to study the movement and go slow at first, film yourself so you can see what it looks like... hope this helps feel free to ask more!

  • @FocusedLucas

    @misterbulate hey just really try to stay tight and keep practicing!, also try to stay focused on your upperback/ shoulders

  • @FocusedLucas
    @FocusedLucas  13 років тому

    @fruit4710 hey man if your dedicated probably like one or two months, maybe even sooner depending on your body type..... for the spin on the shoulder, just try to roll over from a back spin, but dont roll from the center of your back, try rolling from your upper back (your shoulders) thats all just practice youll get it!

    @kerwinwinrox hey just keep practicing! if you got the headspin you will get this if you don't give up!
    try to roll over on your arm pretty quick after on your back, don't stay there for too long because you will lose momentum, also try laying on your back and bring your legs up and hips, then try to do this after going into a back spin and then windmill hope this helps

    @ToonstaTV hey man thanks!, if i had to pick one stretch to do it would be the stretch in the beginning of my windmill, flare, and airflare tutorial..... the one where you spread your legs and reach infront of you and then to your feet! lol... other than that stretch the wrists like so in the windmill tutorial, and then think about the muscles and tendons that you are going to be using and warm them up and stretch them out as well (any that have been forgotten)..hope this helps!

    i would say emphasis the kick, i had the same problem also remember to get some rotation going, kick hard! rotation= get into hand glide, move counter to the direction of you move, pull hard with your free hand, hence you will rotate, then kick as hard as you can and drive your elbow to the ceiling or sky. make sure to kick towards your face as you enter onto your back so you don't bruise your back.

  • @TheAlexIp

    You don't have to put your head down, but personally I think it's pretty helpful. I've had problems with mills for a while, but I started practicing with my head (make sure your chin is down) and I've improved my mills. Of course though, you don't need to use your head; if you start using your head, you'll find it much easier. Beanies are helpful if you're worried about hitting or scraping your head
    Good luck!

    @virtualv93 Hey Thanks A LOT for the support man!!...i checked ur windmill out and they look really good, if you keep practicing youll get them cleaner and looking however you want guaranteed!...some tips to help you get there:
    try to keep your legs and your hips tight/ solid don't relax youve got to give it your all! and try to use that stabbing hand as a guide, try not to lock it into the stabbing position but rather just flow right by it.
