    Pigmie out here giving you the recipe for success and some of yall still sleepin: stay humble, put in the time, look at the big picture, and FOCUS. I see a lot of cats who want to be successful talk about "rise & grind," this that the other thing, but they just talk. They don't live it. They don't do the work behind the scenes. They want to be successful in terms of "I want everybody to think I'm fly" and that's the fakest, most empty kind of shit you can aspire to achieve.
    Most folks would delete their old footage, cut a highlight reel of their best moments, and pretend they were always this good, but Pigmie makes himself better, faster, stronger, cleaner because he LEARNS from those mistakes, and he gives it away for free. Some of you asking for the "easiest way to learn _______" and you watch a video of Pigmie spending hours or days or weeks or months drilling again and again and again until he nails something. You're watching him do it looking for "the lesson" and you're missing THE LESSON.

      Honestly, I'm a beginner trying to bboy, but I can definitely verify that this is extremely true. I asked my brothers for ways that I might get things faster. In the end, it took hard work. Nothing else. Maybe a few, "Hey don't do that, the form is wrong" here and there, but hard work has, and will, pave the way for me

    Tip for your 1 handed air flair, check the momentum. Less momentum, more shoulder strength. You got to deep power it, and not at all rely on speed of your looping legs to get you into the catch on the landing. You basically want to do the air flair, as slowly as possible. Hand hops in place would help tremendously.

  • @davidhunt9685
    @davidhunt9685 4 роки тому +3

    Just like what Bruce Lee said, keep practicing and when you get it, still keep practicing. Try working on Pop-Locking and Slide-Gliding to work on your flow. And it probably would make your transitions from move to move more fluent. Not to mention it makes the power moves just pop. Still I have mad respect for what you are doing. Go old school and don’t forget the roots of the B-Boy.

    It's like you are serious, intense, and focused on the power moves and then you kind of let go and dork out on the other stuff. You are a million times a better breakdancer than I ever was so it is not really my place to say anything. Back in my youth of 1984 I have a record of 3 backspins and if I had UA-cam videos back then on how to Moon Walk and Gyro, I think I would have been a little better. You have a lot to be proud of.

    Some how I ran into your videos. Great tutorials especially the flairs tutorial. Year 2011, your flairs were the bomb! The battle at the end was hilarious on how you commented on yourself. Kinda got a Hong 10 top rock going. Honestly your a power move guy. Should do more of a power move top rock so your opponent gets intimidated(Kind of like charging up to go Super Saiyan hehe). Then add some of your current top rock to mix it up here in there. Then you'll look dope. Your dad is sweet! Keep it up.

    Wait, did you learn headspin, windmill and flare in a year? I really envy you T_T I started bboying in 2012. I was 16, and yada yada, I was afraid to injure myself but I believe I had more power back then and was surrounded by amazing people who motivated me to learn. However, in 2016 I injured my back really bad from learning a backflip. I quitted right after. Took me 4 years to overcome my fear and learning it all over again is much harder than I thought it would be. Is it because age? Or is it because my muscle shrunk from not practicing for 4 years? I don't know. I used to watch your tutorial a lot and just started to watch it again. This one motivates me and I can't wait to practice tomorrow.

      I have injured my back many times slipped discs and all the good stuff, My whole body was so strong at the time being a British champion in gymnastics- I kept training and training as soon as i stopped my whole life changed taking all my strength to just get out of bed couldnt turn my head at all and was stuck in nothingness. I took like 8 years doing nothing apart from being in pain, one day i just thought f it got my enjoyment back started training and with in 6 months was better then ever doing all the crazy stuff i was once doing before! Time to heal with no goals lit a fire up my ass like never before. I also learnt to windmill in 1 hour of trying very happy with myself. Thanks for your story was a great read and hope your crushing your enjoyment and reaching all new levels weekly!

    yooo i can relate to what you said about training powermoves. i started again last year and made this goal with a friend to achieve one powermove and since then ive been training 90s all day and took me 8 months to get a neutral form. i know its kinda of no link but yeah i can feel you about training powermoves hahah

      Powermoves were my weakest element.
      You do great with it.
      You looked like you were gonna break your arm attempting the 1 hand airflare.
      Looked like it hurt.

    shit man i remember watching your how to head spin video when i was extra young dreaming to break dance. i always felt like i was too weak, totally forgot about it eventually. years later i became obsessed with music instrumentals and began playing guitar, making music videos that go with music, later i started working out. Recently something got me back into bboy and i realize i have the strength and feel for music to do it. then i see this video and im like "Wait is that that guy?"...its like im back at square one but im ready this time. wish me luck!
