  • This is a very short snippet of Magma playing Theusz Hamtaahk in 1976, with Jannick Top on the bass and Didier Lockwood on violin. It is the color version of what Olvator uploaded previously. This snippet was part of a larger documentary that was broadcast on M6 televison. We think the video was shot by a guy named Georges Piganau.
If there is any more video from the 1970's, we would love to see it. Please let the Kohntarkosz blog know about it. (kohntarkosz.blogspot.com)

I would love to hear this version. TH 1st movement is my favorite Magma thing. It should have been recorded as soon as 72, thus before MDK, but who knows why it was only released much later.

It's half-step lower than how this segment normally sounds like, so this is why it sounds slower than, say the rendition on "Opera de Reims '76" of the same era.

Sounds soooo brutal and magnificent, even if 1974 line up was even better.
