WOW. I sent in 110 of these 1990 Marvel cards around the same time you did...2 years ago. I got over 70% PSA 10s. I used a magnifying glass and light. I wonder if I got lucky with my grader...it does matter. My PMG sub was a disaster.
The overall average of the 1990 Marvel Universe in PSA’s database is a 30% gem rate, so your 70% gem rate on a 110 card submission is incredible. I also didn’t evaluate any of my submissions heavily. I sent it in if I though it would 8 or better. I knew a good chunk of mine would 8 or 9.
@@trading_card_brothers I didn't know that. I went through my cards thoroughly shooting for nothing less than a 10...I'm trying to complete the set in PSA 10.
@@HobbyNewsPlus I probably should’ve, but just wanted to get them in before that level closed up at that price point. You did a great job though! Tough set to complete, I’ve met 3 people that are all at less than 20 cards remaining to complete the set as 10’s. Apparently there’s only 1 person who’s finished the set that’s known. Best of luck with finishing it! I know there’s still 8-10 cards that have a population of less than 10 copies as a PSA 10 grade.
How did you check the surface with a magnifying glass and light? What would you find that would make you not send it in? I have a few that I checked that have microscopic dots on the white border. Would that lower the grade?
@@Andrewvargo5641 I look for dings, dents and scratches that are hard to see normally. The light and magnifying glass make a huge difference. Good luck!
I have a ton of these cards... been researching a lot. Still totally lost about getting them graded. i have them in sleeves and card protectors though!
If I was sending in now I would be way more selective. Back when I did this submission I knew they were closing the $12 submission level and wanted to get these in before that closed…I barely did evaluations for this submission and was ok receiving an PSA 8 or 9!
Yes, I ripped open 2 full boxes and graded the majority of them. I was the one who handled them from pack to PSA, so I knew multiple had a chance to PSA 10.
This submission was $1,287.75 all in, includes shipping/insurance back to me from PSA. ($12 per card was the submission level). Unfortunately, PSA doesn’t offer that price point at this time.
I have a bulk lot of 1991 to 1995 marvel and DC cards in a binder idk what I have or if any of them are rare I would be willing to sell them all for a good deal bulk price if you are interested.
@@bennytimms9477 I appreciate you reaching out. Unfortunately I'm not looking to purchase anymore Marvel or DC at this time. I still have a big chunk I'm working on selling!

a lot more PSA 10s than you had gotten in previous order...congrats
For sure, thanks! This was one of the better orders from the bunch.
ebay is being flooded with 1990s marvel slabs
That doesn't surprise me!
What was the cost to grade
Back when I did this submission it was $12
Thank you for you reply, I really appreciate it.
@@Moodythemarine you’re welcome! Thanks for watching my video
$12 a card. I'm assuming?

Grading can be overwhelming sometimes if you’re new to the game. If you have any specific questions I’d be happy to help answer the best I can!
Those 8s were definitely way off with centering. Surprised you sent them in ?

Psa guy was having a bad day that day
This was actually a really good PSA submission. I was happy with the results!
104 cards??? What was the total cost of this grading?
