Believe it or not, the 15 car Medha EMU can draw a peak power 2 MW per power car, for a total of 10 MW, or almost as much as Train 18s 10.6 MW. Despite the initial pull, it cannot however accelerate forever like VB. And the suspension of VB is on another planet compared to any other train in India. But your Mumbai Local is also seriously underrated, it's way more powerful than it seems.
this isnt Mumbai Local, it is Kolkata EMU though i am curious as how two trains ran in same direction on adjacent tracks Aren't tracks supposed to be one up one down format? there seems to be 4 tracks so wondering about how same direction on adjacent tracks. in Mumbai, on central railways, all tracks are one up + one down format, so it will be u-d-u-d for a 4 track layout on western railways, it is the same format most of the time, apart from a single 7th bidirectional track from Khar to Borivali. but they are exclusively for outstation trains leaving from Bandra Terminus.

That’s not the case for Wap 7. Wap 7 is kind of a cruising type loco, used for Long distance travel. Wap7 isn’t used to compete with EMU based trains. Second of all, if any WAP-7 has the priority to go fast, it’s acceleration would be crazy. But Future is all based on EMU + aerodynamic design
As every wheel is connected to the electric motor in Vandey Bhaarat, friction also helps the train acceleration, while friction is opposite in other trains
Wap 7 can push-up to 110kmph in 110 seconds with leading 20+ coaches single handedly that's because the powerfull traction motors,but this semi high speed T- 18 is based unit models like Emu,which have small traction motors below every 3 coaches or 1 unit (3 coaches combined as we can see multi pantographs ) in single rake with direct power supply to particular unit,any how T -18 is based on more enhanced Emu models with more powerfull traction motors capability to travel long distances,Any how a locomotive is locomotive the pulling machines 🔥🔥🔥,Wap 7 wdp4d there are known for there Epic acceleration,I hope u get clear after my comment ☺️ ,Thank u

Sure the EMU has its own tasks to fulfill the travel needs of the common man and should be applauded When compared with the passenger footfall for Vande Bharat the EMU will be colossal huge and no match Indian Railways justifying passenger needs Only worry is that in recent years it is leaning on the commercial side swindling passengers in tatkal, premium tatkal, dynamic fares, cancellation charges etc
Vande bharat has a higher speed but nothing outstanding to go Gaga over it. The local train acceleration was faster. Vande Bharat is a over hyped toy. Mon y sp nt on upgrading track speed to 160 km per hour would have greatly benefited the rail user than this premium train set . 10 percentage of a Indian population earn more than 25k and mabe less than 3 percentage of indian population can afford this train travel.
Although both are emu, but local emu can't be beated easily, the way it accelerated and catch up vande bharat at 1:22 it states that locals❤ are goat of pick up. Btw nice capture🙌
it will be awesome once they release the next-gen VandeBharat-Sleeper variant which they are planning to make it capable of achieving speeds up to 220 kmph. Of course they need to fence those tracks.

Yes vande matram at the time of trial run Ran at 180 kmph but limited to 130 to 133 kmph due to some factors and vande Bharat express can run at 200 kmph top speed if situation allows but gatiman express can travel at 160 kmph operational speed which makes it fastest train in India till date as they limited the top speed of vande Bharat it comes 2nd.
Both old version of VB and Gaatiman have max speed of 180 and operational speed of 160 ( Operational speed is always 10% less than max speed to ensure safety) However, most of the tracks in India can't support 160 Km/h speed, that's why 130 is peak. Once tracks are improved, speed of VB will be improved as well

I really like trains maybe, because I travelled a lot in trains when I was young. Trains for me symbolises one of the finest examples of engineering. 130 is nothing around to the bullet train.... where trial gets the speed of 180 now it is operating under 130 avg speed. So sad about this issue....i also can also see that the upcoming shinkansen bullet train may also run slowly due to this type of track restrictions 😢😢😢

Vande is like Maruti car, lighter n speeds up fast, but delicate n not sturdy like normal Indian trians, which run for years without any defect. Lot of complaints heard of Vande. Its delicate.
Most disturbing part is passengers who were travelling with much higher fare at Vande Bharat had to wait for almost an hour due to signal problem. Today travelling through Rail has become a nightmare. Shame on Indian Railways.

Vande bharat train is nothing but EMU power system on LHB coach . ICF coaches has max speed of 110 km/hr LHB coach has 180km/hr.
The led display is unnecessary when train in motion additional it should be fitted inside cabin for viewing from outside.
Same tech to drive the train..only difference is of cart design...

Nope, they may get a headstart but will saturate at 80-90kmph while Vande bharat will keep accelerating till 130kmph.
