You really are one of my favourite hikers, thanks for sharing. I love hearing the birds and the crunch as you walk along. You also regularly show things where I’m sure if I was walking along I’d be pausing and saying ‘oo, look at that! 😁
Awww, thank you so much for the kind words. Yes, I’m obsessed with the crunchy sounds, haha. I do want to show more of what I’m doing during the day in my hiking videos, including the little things…but I kept these videos more direct and am missing more of that now. When I am out for a thru hike again I’ll spend more time on all the little things again. I get distracted by pretty much everything out there 😅🤗🌻
Thank you, June! I’m having fun with the shorter hikes this year but am still excited to prep for the longer thru hikes in the future. I’ll be announcing my upcoming plans at the end of this series. I appreciate you and Terry watching and supporting me along the way. I didn’t record as much on this trip hiking with a partner and will be more mindful of that in the future so my videos stay more interesting. 🤗🌻🩷
Not sure why I’m missing some of your videos but it’s fun to recap. How wonderful that you’re back on trail and doing it for pure pleasure instead of the pressure of having to “FINISH”. Very comforting also to have a hiking buddy with like attitude and thoughts. I’m so happy for you, this is after all your favorite part of the PCT. Very positive vibes heading your way. 🙏🏻🥰
Thank you Anita! It was very interesting to see how I would feel approaching this as a section only this time. Of course you know me…I have bigger plans for this trail still coming up 😂 We had such a great time. It was nice to have the “comforts” back for a few days but I always miss it, haha. It definitely gets under your skin. Hope you are doing well my friend! xoxo 🤗🌻🥰
Thank you for another great video. I love revisiting the PCT sections I have already done and seeing the difference the years have made... Sorry the restaurants were closed that is always such a letdown when you are hungry. Thank you again for taking us along on your adventure.
Thanks so much! We made up for those closures when we got to Julian and ate and bought all our favorite things. 😄 Definitely a bigger deal out there when it is one of your motivators. Thank you for following along! 🤗🌻
Wow, the restaurants were closed. What a bummer. Julien has better food and pie. I love seeing the trail again. One of my favorite sections. You guys are nailing it!
Thank you! I really like both the cafe and the Outpost, but yes, Julian has more selection…. and the PIE 😍 You best believe we ate our share when we got to Julian, haha. 🤗🌻
I call California Towhee's "Cheep-cheep" birds. Those cheeps can be loud and continuous. I get them and the Spotted Towhees in my yard a lot. When you see how lush and green the California chaparral is, it always amazes me that people persist in calling it the desert. Ceanothus are just amazing shrubs. I have several species in my gardens.
The Towhees always reminds me of when I worked at the Safari Park during those Condor Facility shifts. I had to traverse paths from compound to compound in the early mornings or late evenings and they use to startle me rustling/foraging around in the leaves off to the sides. Now I am more than familiar with these guys and find them so comforting to have around. 🌻🐦⬛
You sound so relaxed in this hike, none of the concerns or frustrations from earlier days. Section hiking might be your sweet spot, letting you enjoy the hike without external pressures. Have a great time!
Welcome back Tracy !!! I turned my phone on and there you were. I don't know what the plan is but I'm certainly wishing you the very best 🙏 !!!! And remember step by step 😄. That's how it's done 👍🏼.
I really enjoyed my section hike. I’m sure they will always feel “easier” and more relaxing without the added pressures and time away. I will be incorporating them into my hiking seasons for sure but my heart still wants to pursue a full thru hike. I know I have it in me. It motivates and drives me in other areas of my life too. I’ve got big plans for 2025. 🤗🌻
Yes, we went through there 4/28. It wasn’t a really strong flow but it was clear and running fast enough to feel good about it. It is really nice when it is flowing. The frogs at night are a bonus too 🐸🤗🌻

Thank you once again for letting me follow along vicariously. Always the best video and super commentary. THANKS !
Thank you very much! Happy to have you along with me on all my adventures…lots more to come!! I appreciate your kind words and support. 🤗🌻
Thanks Tracy for all your videos. You seem so happy the way you are hiking this year. Love your shots of the birds and the landscape. You are amazing!

What beautiful views. Glad you paced yourself.
Thank you! It really does make a difference. I am not the most patient person so this was a good lesson. 😅🤗🌻

Beautiful area! Bummer the restaurants were closed! Double treat yourself in Julian!
Thank you! We did 😅🤗🌻
Loving your hike
Thank you so much! 🤗🌻
Was there water in Fred Canyon? It’s a lot nicer to hike when water is more abundant. Thanks for sharing.
