B727 is still my favorite jet of all time. You can land it from almost any situation when you drop those flaps it turns into a kite

Flaps 40. When the 727 came out, pilots would deploy flaps 40 and descend from 10,000, apply power just before the thresh hold to arrest descent, and then land. As a kid, I remember coming into Oakland like that. This practice was the cause of an accident or two and was banned. In fact, many airlines prohibited 727 pilots from using flaps 40.

It's a VIP 727, so practically empty. They'll have to retract the flaps quickly so the thing doesn't climb vertically!
