Teemu broke into the NHL by scoring 76 goals and 132 points in the 1992-93. It remains the league record for most goals and points by a rookie. It was the most goals that season and he tied it with Mogilny. It is also the last time anyone has scored more than 70 goals in a season in the NHL.
There's a funny video of Selänne watching Finland's game after his retirement fully dressed and ready to go to the ice. He's now one of the hosts in Finnish version of Top Gear. First episode was aired just recently. He hosts the show with comedian Ismo Leikola and actor, comedian an announcer Christoffer Strandberg. Their first guest was Jari Litmanen. He might not be much a petrolhead. Ismo got to race with 5 Finnish rally world champions the first episode. No clip from that show, but here's one from the original show: "Mika Hakkinen Teaches Captain Slow to Drive | Top Gear". Selänne is a car guy. At the moment he's said to have 25 cars in his collection. Here he is with his Ferrari: "Teemu Selänteen autotallista". In this one he does a car stunt (has English subtitles): "Teemu Selänne räjähdyksessä! - Duudsonit". I don't know if you're familiar with the Dudesons (Duudsonit), but their might be your kind of show: "Dudesons In America - Official Trailer [HD]" and "Run Over by Icebreaker Ship? - Meanwhile In Finland EP3". One Finnish cultural aspect similar to the Italian might be moped culture: "Mopeds in Finland - Mopokulttuuri", " anttiles Finnish moped tuning", "Fastest Suzuki Pv in the world!?!?!" and "TAMPERE BIKENIGHT 17.6".
Your national Ice hockey team just got the best coach there is, Jukka Jalonen from Finland that leaded us to 3 times world champions and one Olympic Gold, not to mention youth U20 championship too.
It's called a "buck" in English ("kiekko" in Finnish), and it is the shape of a flat cylinder. It is not shaped like a ball. There is a sport in Finland, which is similar to ice hockey, but they do use a ball in that one. I suppose one way to translate its name ("jääpallo") would be "ice ball".

70 goals in a season???? How many games are there in a season?
@@mauronicolo89There are usually 82 games in a season. But in that season there were 84 games.
@@mauronicolo89 Nowadays 82 games per season, but at the time of the record it was 84 games.
@@leopartanen8752That's almost 1 goal a game, insane!
@@mauronicolo89That's nothing. Wayne Gretzky scored 92 goals in 80 games in 1981/82, including 50 in just 39 games.

I don't understand soccer. The goals are huge and none of the players get the damn ball in the net. Most boring sport in the world. :D
