So when do you think the next big reveal will be? And WHAT will it be? Flagship saved till late, for last, full release surprise? Hopefully you enjoy this discussion and let us know!
If you've followed Monster Hunter reveals in the past few years, you'd know that Tokyo Game Show is almost assuredly when we'll get THE big reveals like the release date, flagship, and other cool stuff. Speaking of the flagship, Game Rant posted an article during Gamescom talking about their time with the story. They brought up the introductory story beats, namely how the plot is that we're sent to hunt down "The White Wraith", a Monster that destroyed Nata's village and left him as the only survivor. It's a good bet that "The White Wraith" will be the flagship Monster, albeit potentially not a guarantee. If it is the flagship, then that slightly narrows down the features of this Monster as having white coloration in some capacity and having qualities that would make it ethereal in some sense such as blinding speed or camouflage.
it would be refreshing to not get a flagship at all. so every monster could be the important one for the story. the apex predators only USE the environement. they are not the cause for the storm or the red water. they adapted to use it to the fullest. So i'm so excited to see WHAT causes the changes in the wilds!
Always loved those "hey the game is releasing in a month time" reveal, everyone is always super hyped with those. And there's no better event to reveal it than the game wards, it'd make perfect sense for me to have wilds late january just like the realease date of world was in that time frame.
I absolutely DO NOT want any more slap-on bone and iron weapon designs, unless it’s like Rise where they only brought back a handful so it wasn’t repetitive in that game. Thankfully it’s looking like good weapon designs are here to stay.
I will never forgive them for what they did to the Rathalos and Brachydios switch axes, especially when the designs were RIGHT THERE, they just had to model them. But they didn’t.
I think i saw a video with the Dev saying that they didn't have enough time and budget at that time for the design department since it was their very 1st attempt on going AAA targeting global audience in mind, that's why we only saw improvement of the armor and weapon designs on Iceborne

From you talking about the release date saying “I see mid 2025 as the EARLIEST” I feel like that is definitely not true, and it’s slated for earlier in 2025. In the shareholders meeting they specified that it would come out in a specific quarter of their fiscal year, which ends in March (iirc) for Capcom so it should be released by then at the latest
Temporal mantle is a big advantage, but it didn't make you invincible. I want it back personally. People complain about weird things. They complained about Fatalis armor, too. Just play the game. We're gonna enjoy it regardless.
Right! Like to complain about fatalis armor is crazy to me😂😂😂 it’s the very last armor you can possibly get and you need to be able to kill fatalis to even get it. Multiplayer hunts are not a guarantee😂😂😂 but oh it’s so broken for doing the most challenging thing in the game🤦🏽♂️ if you want souls level of challenge go play a souls like game😂
Nergigante was first shown off at TGS in 2017 and that was when they announced the release date of world, it will be the exact same thing this year. Especially because during Rurikhan's interview they said they weren't changing their media strategy
They have a "Capcom program show" for tgs. It's going to be around 50mins, and will include new information about their latest games. Some hopefully a release date later this month.
I completely disagree. Monster Hunter World was already playable at Gamescom 2017 (World, not Wilds), and it released January 26th, 2018. If I had to guess, they will keep the exact same tried and true marketing approach that worked so well for Worlds. The game will release on January 24th, 2025, possibly a week sooner or later on the 17th or 31st. The demo will be released to be downloaded about a month before release. I'm so confused on why people keep calling that demo that we've been seeing an 'early' build. They wouldn't be hyping up the game 6-months before preorders go live, 10 months before it releases. They typically announce a release date 4 months before release, most likely the date will be given at TGS, or sooner. I mean for real, Worlds announced it's release date in like mid September of 2017...
Also, the rumored release date of the PlayStation five Pro is either the end of 2024 or early 2025. It would make sense to me for Monster Hunter Wilds to release shortly thereafter to push sales of the new console making an early 2025 release more plausible. Just my two cents anyway.
For some reason I wanna “ hunt” down the monsters as finding tracks and whatnot which made u feel like an actual person looking for this creature instead of seeing it on the map and already knowing where to go it feels very easy that way
Yeah I missed that in Rise. I get it was a more fast paced game because it was handheld, but World’s tracking mechanics are peak, they should just do that again.
I would love to see the armor change looks again. Like it changes when you level it up and improve it. Definitely would love to see it be different from low and high rank, I miss that. Or even take it a step further and have it be customizable, maybe have every armor piece have a few different styles and looks you can pick from. With the armor being swappable for either gender, I think they are going on a way towards that.
If Team Darkside is right and he isn't just sniffing lethal amounts of copium, the game relases "somewhere within the next 6 months" so most likely a march release as Capcom games usually do In that case, I'd expect TGS to be the release date announcement (like World) and TGA to be the demo announcement But the current demo being "An early build" and the trailers saying just "2025" instead of "Early" or "Late" makes me think of a Q2-3 release, but I really, *REALLY,* hope that I'm wrong In regards to the demo it will probably just be a more refined version of the current build, so we'll get to hunt the monsters in the plains and that's really it For the Rise demo I also remember Rathian being around so that was another hunt you could do even if it wasn't one of the 3 available quests, so maybe they'll add Rathian to the demo since that's a familiar monster you can easily try the weapon changes in or maybe it will be just Chatacabra easy, Doshaguma Medium, Rey Dau Hard and Balahara as optional encounter that's just in the map
I like the idea of mantles being situational and specific. Your weapon/s should be the use any time on any monster items and then lightning, ice, fire ajd dragon mantles are for specific fights. Rocksteady was risk-reward but temporal was just all reward.
If people didnt know, Monster Hunter Worlds was at the TGS and that's when they revealed the release date of the game and The release date was in January.
One thing I haven’t seen anyone talk about, it’s not major, but anyways, when the storm is raging over the sand, it makes it look like you’re underwater and the areas that have light look like when the sun shines through water. It looks neat👌
The whole free sharpen on the back of sekret is a mute argument since people just walk out of combat and sharpen and there also skill tried to it. Sharpening in and out of combat is 2 different playstyles and as long as the dev don't force players into one or the other it is ok. More options is better in these games. Sharpen doing combat is more of a skill check on par with tail carving doing combat
Some speculations on my end that I can't unsee is, look at the Logo for Wilds, there are 4 small dragons and 2 big dragons. It was confirmed that there is 1 Apex predator per zone. If there are 4 zones, then each small dragon represents 1 Apex predator. But those pan out as true, does the two middle dragons mean a duo situation like with MHRise?
Or it's just... six wyvern heads because it's the sixth generation. That's what every other mainline game has done. So far the only game to hint at the big bad/flagship has been Rise and Sunbreak. I ain't saying it's impossible, I just don't see it.
I suspect the smaller of the two big serpents represents the flagship, while the larger one represents the typical MH surprise final boss Elder Dragon. And while the guy above me is technically correct, it feels very strange for them to not just have 6 equally sized Dragon heads - or at least one large central one and 5 smaller ones - if it was just continuing the logo tradition and nothing deeper. But the fact that there are two big ones, one smaller and one larger, feels like a very strange and out-of-place detail if it didn't have some greater significance or relevance to the story.
Honestly, my hot take is that the clutch claw on its own was fine, the problem was tenderizing, and if they replaced tenderizing with the new wounds mechanic, if actually like for clutch claw to come back for things like Lance claw counter and hammer's combo tool etc
I don't get why people hate the temporal mantle. I think the reasoning of "it makes it brainless" is silly bc then just don't use it. I think it's super sick to do a fancy dodge every once in a while, and realilisticly other mantles with gem slots are way better for "optimal" play.
So excited! 3000 hours in World on Xbox. 1000 hours on Rise on Switch. Currently working on World and Rise second play throughs on PC. My only wish for Wilds gameplay is please let us keep our guide bugs when we get aggro from any monster or creature. Also NO temporal mantle!
I think people take things too seriously. For example MHWI clutch claw was a fun mechanic for me. Sending monsters against walls or against other monsters. Now, people say that the game forces soft parts for damage, but people talk like if everyone was a Speedrunner. The difference between soft parts and not is not that big. Now, birds in Rise sunbreak was pretty annoying. Mantles were another fun mechanic that brings new options for weapons, I'm glad that some things are carried to Wilds. Also, Doshaguma has been somehow the flagship so far, in every presentation there's the picture of Doshaguma with the hunter. Something like rathian in MH Online until Estrellian was announced.
Regarding mantles--or the full category, specialized tools--I feel they should primarily be utility items for assistance, rather than combat enhancers. I'd have the Ghillie mantle to not expire naturally if it is equipped when not engaged with a monster, allowing players to watch monsters go about their lives without needing to run from hiding spot to hiding spot. Just some peace of mind. For the initial four element resistance mantles (Fire, Water, Thunder, Ice), I was thinking that they could be equipped at any time, but do not provide elemental protection from monster attacks if they're not active, only providing environmental protection. Apothecary, Temporal, Evasion, and Impact mantles plus the Affinity booster are items which enhance combat, so they are ones I don't wish to be in Wilds. Yet I feel that Temporal and Evasion mantles are a little much even beyond that, so I'd be happy if those two weren't included, at least. As for the Assassin's Hood, that was a collaboration item that is no longer available to new players in World anyway.
Obviously I want the demo so I can get time in with Lance before launch day but honestly the bigger reason is because I am DYING to see Cotton’s reactions. I also REALLY want a Duramboros reveal lol
I am still holding out hope that Insect Glaive hasn't been grounded. Capcom, please don't take away my helicopter blades of death! Otherwise, I would kinda love to see the glider mantle back. I loved the fast short-cut to the top of the Coral Highlands, and I really wanted different spots to use the mantle like that again. But, I don't think the mantle was popular, so I doubt it. Speaking of, I so want a Coral Highlands/Rotten Vale combo map! I know we JUST got those maps in World, but man they were awesome.
There could be a Rotten Vale-like biome that becomes more Coral Highland-like during certain times And the king of the map? Nergigante!! Where else would you find a beast who feeds on Elder Dragons outside of the New World?!
I feel like the release date reveal will almost certainly be at the Game Awards, maybe even a demo announcement too. But I think we would still get another trailer before that though. I would bet on a Sony State of Play sometime in October or late September.
Tokyo Game Show is where the flagship and release date will be shown in my opinion. Follows usual traditions, so fingers crossed we get juicy details and those pre-orders this month🤞🏽
I’m gonna make a prediction: we’ve already seen and known about the flagship since the game’s reveal, it’s the Seikret. Of course it’s gonna be on the cover, and even if it’s not a huntable monster that doesn’t make it impossible for it to be the game’s flagship.
Make it so that gathering is single input only. I don't wanna smack a rock 3 times or more man. Gathering was definitely the biggest QoL improvement in rise.
I wish we could get rid of the scout flies. It was my only gripe with world as I don't actually feel like I'm hunting the monster anymore. It's too hand-holdy. At least give us the option to turn them off or have a system where you find the tracks and markings on your own and after enough tracking then the scoutflies would locate the monster.
I'm really hoping now we have had Astalos, Glavenus and Mizutsune in 5th gen, they'll finally add Gammoth. Hopefully, we'll be able to fight all the fated four in one game again. By far some of the best monster designs, fights, music and gear in the entire series. I hope at some point they are all treated like Rathian and Rathalos and return every installment. Also super excited at the idea of a new flagship group.
they won't do this i'm sure of it but still if only they make an option to turn off or at least make a long cooldown before you can restock at the tent, that would be great
Man I really want to see Gore Magala again in wilds. I know we just got him in Rise/Sunbreak. Really want to see him in the new RE engine. Same for Valtracks or how ever you spell his name (the jet themed elder dragon)
Could be 4 flagship monsters from the top 4 fan favorite celebration event that was held not that long ago or at the very least the # 1 is my guess🤷♂️
just a heads up on when we got the demos for World and Rise, those demos came out a month before the release, so I think there is a good chance of Wilds releasing at the beginning of 2025.
I know Wilds is meant to cater towards World and its mechanics but it does upset me on how much people aren’t really talking about the useful stuff Rise provided. I’m mainly talking about Switch Skills ( NOT Silkbind attacks even though they were cool) I loved Drill Slash on SnS to replace the Hard Bash Combo. I see they kinda melted these into the base move sets but I feel like there should be more talk on returning Rise mechanics! Rise gave us some of the most flexible and customizability in the series! It is yet to come out but still want some discussion on this!
I wholeheartedly agree, I feel like switch skills give you more depth for your weapon, and separates you a bit more from your fellow hunter with the same weapon, like drill slash being used on elemental and status sns, but shield bash being more so for the raw ones
i am gonna be honest i think we might get new stuff in October because in the past we got trailers roughly every 2 months now that doesn't mean that is the plan for this game but there is a pattern with the past two games. and also the forth trailer usually reveals the release date but like i was saying take that with a grain of salt.
I’m pretty positive there will be on trailer and release date at TGS based on past monster hunter titles. I think the game will release in March at latest. The flagship will either be reveal will either be TGS or TGA in my opinion. Could be wrong but most likely a trailer in a couple weeks
spirit birds, wire bugs and, often related to those, counters/s/guardpoints/offsets/etc. on every single weapon. was feeling terrible in rise, creates super unfun combat. sadly, the demo this far looks like we're getting the rise-style combat rather than the based world approach, despite world being much more successful. i mean i even think my world/GU videos were more fun to watch than my rise/sunbreak stuff, let alone the actual experience of playing it. i've played 8 different MH titles and rise/sunbreak was the least fun, mainly due to combat, sadly.
I'm hoping to see improvements on the gathering hub personally. I want to see other real hunters doing their thing and make the multiplayer feel more lively than just "Do SOS, hunt monster, disband party"
See I’ve never got why some people have a problem with the set up mechanics. I liked Clutch claw as a GS, it provides you optimal DPS for taking a couple seconds to create a wound, other than Safi and Fatalis, I don’t see why people don’t like it, it’s a trade off, time to make the wound, for bigger damage. Same with spiribirds, it takes like 2 minutes to get enough, and it plays into the endemic life having more purpose, I get people wanna get right to the hunt, but was it really that bad to do? And the mantles I’ve never gotten, if someone doesn’t like the way temporal works for example, don’t use it, it’s not a forced mechanic and you can play the entire game without having used a mantle once, if you don’t like it, don’t use it. That’s how I’ve seen it anyways
5:50 - "There is a different flagship monster." Didn't he also *explicitly* say that Rey Dao *isn't* the flagship monster at all? That he's just the apex of the desert area?
Yes, yes he did. That quote is his exact words, but leaves out the fact that he said that sentence after first confirming that Rey Dau is NOT a flagship in the previous sentence. Bothers me how many just take that latter part and say it doesn't deconfirm Rey Dau...
I think the Tokyo Game Show will release a new MH Wilds trailer, I don't know. Also, maybe it could be on Gamescon 2024 Singapore or Paris on October, but I'm not sure still, even if it could be in the Game Awards 2024 in December.
I would like to see the release date asap. We now have a situation where Capcom throws more fuel in the fire with each trailer and gameplay video available and our interest in the game is at the top, but we still don't have any exact info on the release date. Imagining that we will have one more cool trailer of the game at TGS and we still will not have the release date is quite sad 😢
Josh said they can't release Wilds any later than March 2025, right? Capcom said in a shareholder Q&A that it'll release before the end of the fiscal year, which ends in March.
A monster bestiary with the monster's full model. I want to see the monster and all the cool details when its not trying to eat me. Same with the endemic life. Im really hope we get our house and improve on it. Seliana was peak house in MH.
I kinda hope we don't see the flagship till we're near release. At the same time if it is shown, I hope it's a monster that again, grows alongside the hunter. Poor Magnamalo felt like a footnote in his own game.
im confused as to why you think its unlikely to release early next year. On the contrary, that is the most likely window for it be released. Not having a playable at home demo is not a good reason. World released and January and didnt have a demo until December. Further, Capcom has had no major title release this fiscal year, Wilds fits the bill perfectly (Being before the end of March). Also, Tokyo Game Show is a major event for capcom as a company and always shows more of their games there. We will definitely get a new trailer and more info on Wilds then.
We'll definitely get a good set of news at tokyo game show. I have to say they've told us so much and yet nothing at the same time lol and I love that. Even leaks are very few.
me and my homies agree that hunting horn didn't feel like hunting horn in wilds, and in spite of it being incredibly overpowered the usage rates were sad, i loved everything about iceborne hunting horn i want it to build on that but i don't want a super overly fast, i don't want rize hunting horn i want it to have the feeling of the old hunting horn.
My only concern is are the weapons going to feel like world where you have to think about where you will be and attack or like rise whee you can cancel and counter so you don't really have to be worried about getting killed as much ??
Ive said it once I'll say it again wilds will release on February 11th it fall perfectly in line with getting out in the 4th quarter of the fiscal year, games have been releasing in Tuesday as of late and it give Capcom enough time to plan the 21st and event
I want to see lots more unique monsters and a really huge world that shocks us all, I would like the main desert area to just be the tutorial. I would also like to see less re scrapped monster variant’s it gets super disappointing towards the end of worlds imo
Remove the always allowed to restock at camp. Make players actually prepare for a hunt, and if they're not then they're sol like in the old games. If we can restock at a camp, make it limited, very limited to what we can take. Being able to just fully restock infinity so long as you had it in your box made the games way too easy.
I love the new focus feature I don't think there are anymore cool move sets they added though that would probably be my only complaint. Is that they add a little more for each class though I am very happy with the changes. Mantles are fine I would be okay with even just stealth mantle. Also I assume they have this or hope they do but being able to run up certain trees for a driving over head attack like in Mhw was VERY cool and sets up a great way to mount I hope they added things like that again. Feel like the SS is a little lack luster and could be made a bit more impactful that's all from me still can't wait for this game to come out I'm 35 and I'll be 40 playing this game for sure 😂😂😂
As one of the "immortal build users", I wish there was the Rocksteady mantle and a mantle to boost all healing while active, without the "hyperarmor" effect from rocks. The rest of the mantles would be but bonusses, hahahahahahaha
So when do you think the next big reveal will be? And WHAT will it be? Flagship saved till late, for last, full release surprise? Hopefully you enjoy this discussion and let us know!
I think it will be Congala and monkeys

Yeah I missed that in Rise. I get it was a more fast paced game because it was handheld, but World’s tracking mechanics are peak, they should just do that again.
I remenber they saying in one of the streams that you had to do the tracking once with every monster
@@LorkanthalThis is what i think too it makes sense as they want to show of the main part of the game which is the combat
i want dalamadur to return so bad, idk why i just need me a dalamadur fight
Not just you bro 🙏🏾
Give us Najarala back too while we're doing 4th Gen snakes.
And a new snake monster @@BaronSterling
I would love to see the armor change looks again. Like it changes when you level it up and improve it. Definitely would love to see it be different from low and high rank, I miss that. Or even take it a step further and have it be customizable, maybe have every armor piece have a few different styles and looks you can pick from. With the armor being swappable for either gender, I think they are going on a way towards that.
If Team Darkside is right and he isn't just sniffing lethal amounts of copium, the game relases "somewhere within the next 6 months" so most likely a march release as Capcom games usually do
In that case, I'd expect TGS to be the release date announcement (like World) and TGA to be the demo announcement
But the current demo being "An early build" and the trailers saying just "2025" instead of "Early" or "Late" makes me think of a Q2-3 release, but I really, *REALLY,* hope that I'm wrong
In regards to the demo it will probably just be a more refined version of the current build, so we'll get to hunt the monsters in the plains and that's really it
For the Rise demo I also remember Rathian being around so that was another hunt you could do even if it wasn't one of the 3 available quests, so maybe they'll add Rathian to the demo since that's a familiar monster you can easily try the weapon changes in or maybe it will be just Chatacabra easy, Doshaguma Medium, Rey Dau Hard and Balahara as optional encounter that's just in the map
It has to fit within Capcom's Financial Year which ends March 31st 2025.
World launched Friday, January 26th 2018
Friday, January 30th I'll guess
oh yeah, it’s all coming together.
Reminder that Monster Hunter World’s release date was revealed during TGS 2017 and then we still had a January 2018 launch.
There could be a Rotten Vale-like biome that becomes more Coral Highland-like during certain times
And the king of the map?
I wouldn't mind seeing the Challenger mantle and Rocksteady mantles come back, along with the boosters.
Figths like the safi jiva one that you have to depend on the lobie to get maximum rewards
God I hope my boy Lagi is in this game. Now that they figured out the skeleton I'm just waiting for him to show back up in HD glory.
I would like Elemental mantles, they could reuce damage of a certain element while active.
they won't do this i'm sure of it but still if only they make an option to turn off or at least make a long cooldown before you can restock at the tent, that would be great
I still think Doshaguma is the flagship
Ya know I really wanna see valstrax flying across the skies of wilds and randomly ambushing everything it sees 😂😅
It’s probably going to come out more towards thanksgiving / Christmas time of 2025
just a heads up on when we got the demos for World and Rise, those demos came out a month before the release, so I think there is a good chance of Wilds releasing at the beginning of 2025.
"required setup" also could refer to the wyrdstones I think they were called in 4
I know Wilds is meant to cater towards World and its mechanics but it does upset me on how much people aren’t really talking about the useful stuff Rise provided.
Oh god the generations demo fight for valstrax was what got me into mh to begin with
How did people not like the mantels and the clutch claw was awesome
9:53 I agree, the Seikret needs a nerf. Being able to disengage from battle due its speed, heal, sharpen and auto dodge some attacks.
Giving it a cool down might work, like it takes time for it to get to you, or it's unavailable when a target is enraged.
Who's mad at temporal mantle? It's balanced by being used up the quickest of all the mantles and has the same long cool down as any other mantle.
What I want is a good balance between old and new monsters like rise
I expect they will show the monster from the purple hammer armour at some point but I'm happy if they didn't spoil anymore new monsters.
In the end they always manage a few surprises especially elders wise. Nobody knew about bazelgeuse in world until high rank.
5:50 - "There is a different flagship monster."
Didn't he also *explicitly* say that Rey Dao *isn't* the flagship monster at all? That he's just the apex of the desert area?
Yes, yes he did. That quote is his exact words, but leaves out the fact that he said that sentence after first confirming that Rey Dau is NOT a flagship in the previous sentence. Bothers me how many just take that latter part and say it doesn't deconfirm Rey Dau...
As long as deviljho is in the game doing turf wars i am happy
I think the Tokyo Game Show will release a new MH Wilds trailer, I don't know. Also, maybe it could be on Gamescon 2024 Singapore or Paris on October, but I'm not sure still, even if it could be in the Game Awards 2024 in December.
I predict the game will go on pre-sale before Christmas with early access before 2025 so we can play late 2024 or very early 2025.
hoping farming specific Decorations are easier to obtain for builds, instead of the randomly obtained ones
I had a feeling there is gonna be no hard bosses in the demo for accessibility purposes.
The Flagship in 'Monster Hunter Wilds' is the Open World Itself
The flagship is congalala
@@Chrys-marcelMambou Is Poogie
Please Ryozo, no rng farm for decos.
March 25th as capcom said with the very first look at wilds
What? Source please
did people just forget that there was a single month between the release of world and its beta
I wanna see a new Jho variant, elder dragon level and Bloodbath Diablos
Does the sekiret attack or does is hang back and wait for the signal or does it attack like the palamutes did in Rise?
I'm still holding out hope that we will get the release date at TGS. Could be wrong, I'm not a capcom developer.
me and my homies agree that hunting horn didn't feel like hunting horn in wilds, and in spite of it being incredibly overpowered the usage rates were sad, i loved everything about iceborne hunting horn i want it to build on that but i don't want a super overly fast, i don't want rize hunting horn i want it to have the feeling of the old hunting horn.
My only concern is are the weapons going to feel like world where you have to think about where you will be and attack or like rise whee you can cancel and counter so you don't really have to be worried about getting killed as much ??
i really just want my Brute Wyverns
I want Valstrax back. REGULAR Valstrax. They could save Crimson Glow for the expansion.
Me too, Wilds feels like a great game for good ol Val to appear in.
Damn, i got clickbaited again.
Yeah that was a bit disappointing not gonna lie
@@thewalt200 That was really disappointing. No news, only more views for them. Damn.
Ive said it once I'll say it again wilds will release on February 11th it fall perfectly in line with getting out in the 4th quarter of the fiscal year, games have been releasing in Tuesday as of late and it give Capcom enough time to plan the 21st and event
My main question is honestly will we get a public demo as we draw closer to the release like with rise
I want to see lots more unique monsters and a really huge world that shocks us all, I would like the main desert area to just be the tutorial. I would also like to see less re scrapped monster variant’s it gets super disappointing towards the end of worlds imo
This is basically monster hunter world 2 ...... and im in love ❤.
I want the impact mantle bow build to return
Honestly, if you think it’s cheap to sharpen/heal on your Seikrat, then don’t. As long as we don’t police how others players play it’s all good.
I really want velkhana to be apart of wilds
shouldnt be able to sharpen and pot on seikret when in combat.. and maybe make a small cooldown for seikret?
