Every time you go out, you learn something... Sea sickness usually a baits after a couple of days, even for the most experienced sailors.. Sea legs actually does happen... Don't go to shore for an evening picnic, the bears are out... Great video...

BTW - those little 'ring thingies' are called split-rings. Get the ones that have a 'crook' in one end so they're easier to get started into that hole in the pins. Best is just buy shackles that have captive pins… Fair Winds!

Agreed! I use shackles with threaded pins for halyards, outhaul, and main sheet. My topping lift has a shackle with a captive pin with a half turn locking dog for quick release without losing the pin over the side! Works well. My standing rig uses split rings to fasten the bottle screw tensioners with electrical insulation tape wrapped around to prevent them from accidentally snagging running lines, sheets and clothes… and most of us have experienced seasickness as a result of confused sea states and fickle winds… well done for keeping it down!!!

I am sure that you have tried it but my old dad taught me many years ago to take the wheel if you feel queasy. His theory was that no car driver has ever been car sick only passengers. It is not fullproof but is sure helps. Of course back in those times you were always hand steering.

Yes it does help for sure.. as long as the boat is making good way. Thanks for keeping up with us Ian :)

I think anybody that makes a dinner like that is a keeper! You might want to go back and look at last year’s trips! You put lots of money into the boat and it shows. Great video and very enjoyable. From your southern neighbor and fan

I think you guys should cast off the lines and sail along the coast south to Panama. That would be so amazing to see you guys. Maybe even take on an experienced crew member to help! Would absolutely love to see you guys do this full time!

PF = Pin Failure, so every time you press that button, a pin breaks ?! 😳🙈😂
Seriously, you guys have my respect for sticking with it, through the tough times and the queasy spells too ! What a beautiful end to the passage.......your reward I’m thinking 😊👍

"Smooth Seas Do Not Make Skilful Sailors"
Topping lifts seem to come loose more often than anything else! This is why you do inspections for chafe and loose things... things will still chafe through, break and come loose!
The real hard thing with the queasyness is that eating before and during really do help... and on multi day trips are required or you will faint. Also nothing like the fear of sickness to bring on some sickness! Hang tough!

Nice flat anchorage after a long day, not too shabby! When it comes down to days of that shit at sea... the sweet relief of death beginith to sound inviting😂 Perfect conditions for shaking out the boat! 😃 How many people out there that swore they would put a for sale sign on the f-ing boat when they get ashore👋 Next step after a meal and sleep- make more cruising plans, sailor amnesia. Cheers!

😁 The wind is coming from One Direction. That could be a dietary problem.

Non sailors might not realise how the camera never shows the true size of the waves.

Nice to see ya'll again. Haven't seen ya'll, so I thought ya'll was done for the year. It's must be getting cold up there by now!
Maybe some day ya'll will head south to WORMER WATERS 💧!
Maybe some day sail to the Big Island 🏝.
Ok until next time ⏲️ Aloha from the Big Island 🏝 of Hawaii 🏝

Why not invite some experienced sailors onboard for a couple days sail and learn from them. There are usually guys just wanting to sail hanging around. So many have done this to gain knowledge.
