There are also differences between used optics formulas. For example my 8-20x24 Pentax zoom bino has MUCH better, sharper and brighter picture with less aberations than various affordable (low-end) 8x24, 10x25 or 12x25 pocket binos. Even in low light it is better :)

I'm looking at the Vortex Diamondback HD 8 x 28 & 8 x 32, for casual use like hiking. 15.9 oz. vs 14.9oz. is the weight difference, Any thoughts?

Only 1oz of difference ? I'd say go for the bigger one. If there was 5oz of difference, it would matter.

The exit pupil size is important just in low light? But in a day light is an diferences?

yes, usually less aberrations with the bigger pupils, unless you pay far more for a Leica for example.

This is why you go for 8x25. Then the exit pupil is the same as 10x32. 10x25 is an overkill.

I’m just getting in to binoculars and I’ve noticed a lack of consistency in terms. I find that confusing.
Some channels (incl yours) say:
40=Full
Other channel say:
40=Full
Is this lack of standard terms a geographical (eg EU vs US) or is it something else? Can we all decide on one set of standards and stick to it?

id say just understand the numbers and you will be fine, but pocket vs compact sounds less vague than compact vs mid size, i prefer pocket coz its easy to unserstand, its simply binocular you can fit in your poclket xD
