@@Sandbillybushcraft@Joel Thorsen Joel, I'm over is The Black Hills Region SD. What did you end up making your arrow shafts out of? I am currently experimenting with Red Osier Dogwood. Chokecherry seems to perform very well! Beautiful Eastern Ceder btw. I harvested a super nice straight eastern cedar last year on a trip out to North Carolina. I have not started on it yet as it's still aging. I built a decent Ash snake bow two winters back. It performs well but was green when I strung it and thus kept its bend. It's a fun bow to shoot. I just finished a Hickory Plains Style shortbow that I let age for over a year. Shoots super well. I have not yet increased the brace height in fear of it snapping with it being a short bow. I shot it in its present condition about 40x or so hoping to "stretch" the limbs a bit before I do increase the brace height. Was this your first build?
@@TaylorsAuthenticTraditions the arrows are red osier, I’ve made serval bows out of hackberry, ash, elm ect, I did eastern red cedar because it dries fast and is very available, it’s not the best bow wood out there but it can be done.
