Yeah, I like Action 2 especially the magnet system. But the heat is an big issue for fps over 30fps (temperature high setting). I made a video with detailed test, it was disappointing. But if you use for short videos only, then no issue at all. Cheers DrDuu
What are your thoughts on filming in 2.7k? You say that 99% of the time one should use 4k. My thoughts are that 2.7k is good enough for upload to youtube, and that transferring files from internal storage to SD will go quicker.
very true, I usually shoot in 2.7k but recently started shooting more 4k (if I plan to crop-in, in post, like Final Cut Pro). 4k just gives the shot more flexibility to me :)
One video says 'never set AWB to Auto if you want decent footage' this video says 'Always leave AWB on Auto if you dont want to destroy your footage' 3:26. Im lost is videography hell. There is not a single video on UA-cam that agrees on anything LOL.
This is true. I also followed this video for Rocksteady, but found the way I use it, which is recording my family is there is distortion around the edges, things look stretched. Watched another video that recommended steady and horizon balance which looks better despite the slight crop in Standard (wide is still good). Will test it more. But deffo not rocksteady for basic family vids.
Does the horizontal FOV change when you are using 4:3 in 4k, or does it have some other kind of crop? I use it from time to time with my hero 7 to have more room to reframe in Post. Thanks for the video guys!
hi, iam using action 2 for moto vlogging in 2.7k 25fps , all settongs are kept in auto. the video has lots of noise and the colours are off. amy suggestions
Many people recommend using low FPS and the 180 rule and then to use ND filters (to bring the exposure down) to create cinematic footage, including motion blur. You do not mention this at all, why is that? This is not a criticism, I am trying to learn and am simply curious. Thanks.
This term ‘cinematic’ is probably overused. The Action II used this way doesn’t look ‘cinematic’ (or imitate a film look) As you say, 24fps, 1/50th sec…… mostly on a tripod in order to avoid motion blur and handshake combined although rock steady probably helps to make it gimbal like. Gimbals speed up and slow down at the end of travel. Rock steady doesn’t. Then add to that, some kind of ‘artistic’ colour grade in post to give it a less ‘realistic’ look. (In 8 bit vídeo, that adds noise though) Not to mention proper sound recording……. Cinematic is really a bit misleading with an Action Cam in all honesty. Sure, you can try and get it to look like a picture in the movies ….. 60fps on auto shutter and white balance is not close to cinematic. Also, what are you watching on … a TV or computer? That’s not cinematic either.

In low light situations , or if you're shooting a driving POV , you need to turn off that rock steady. it messes up badly with the image in low light.
I don't have any mic settings option
Shutter speed auto or manual?
Few options are missing in my dji osmo action 2 like color graduation
All the very best for 2022, regards, PS the Action 1 is better, More practical lol, regards
hahah ! how so? a good 2022 for you too!
Dji 2 or Go pro Hero 8 ??
Doesn’t it constantly overheat?
What’s your user experience?
Are you able to use it for more than 5 minutes before it overheats?
Hey, bought my action 2 in late dec 2023. Shooting at 2K 30FPS, no overheating indoors. W/ extra batteries, 3 hours of steady use.

Of course, you can also simply just ignore the people trying to engage with your channel

I found out ND filters doesn’t stay if you have protective case
Why my dji action 2 just can record on 4k 60 fps 😵
You are shooting in 4:3 ratio i guess
we have the same cinematic settings... :)
♥️
1st
my hero for this week
😃
Dammit third
bhahah still amazing
Over and misappropriate use of the word "cinematic".
Vattakaya
