There may have been some so called cusines called authentic menue here and there in now Kolkata, but I am sure the Awadhi tastes have always been floating on top and will be in top forever. Kunalji you have got the real taste of authentic food.

@@abmitboz it might be cooked in your home in that way, but traditionally refined oil mixed with ghee is the cooking medium for the chicken, get your facts right!

The kolkata biryani has Aloo in it and ofcourse the biryani spices are much milder yet distinct.
Mustard oil is used, spices are subtle and potato
Mustard oil is not used in Kolkata biryani. It is used in another type of biryani from same state named Murshidabadi Biryani!
