    A couple of questions as I am considering buying one of these: 1. Can you open the tailgate on your Jeep while the trailer is hitched up? 2. Does the tow vehicle charge the battery when the 7-pin connector is plugged in? 3. Approximately how long does the battery last with light and moderate use? I know this is load dependent but if I'm just using lights, fridge, water pump and a little bit of the fan, am I looking at 1 day, 3 days? Just need a ballpark idea. Thank you for the very informative video.

      1. You can open tailgate if you cut it to the right just slightly. It is about 1/2 inch away from clearing while straight but I also am on 35x12.50 so a stock tire may clear. 2. I am not sure but I believe if you have a proper 7 pin wired in that it would but I use an adapter. 3. If you don’t use the fan it will last 3 days on battery but the fan uses a lot of energy and on high with the fridge and normal usage it last roughly a day if fan on at night but not all day.

      @@GrayLineOverland I have 35s as well, but good to know if you are at an angle, that you can still open the rear of the Jeep. I do have a 7pin, so I'll need to ask that question to the guys at Bean. Thanks for all of the info, it helps.

    Like the idea of not using a ball-type hitch.

    • @GrayLineOverland

      Absolutely same here. I feel like this hitch is the natural evolution of trailer hitches

    Just see the design of the cabin it seems like having your head where the cabinets are would be easier to sit u swing your legs out the door in the night not waking up the other person

    Are these BEANS the best teardrops ?

    • @GrayLineOverland
      @GrayLineOverland  3 роки тому +4

      The bean is an excellent teardrop but as far as being the best I can say this. I don’t believe anyone has it 100% dialed in for overlanding yet not real deal overlanding anyway but as far as teardrops go I believe the meaner bean is one of the best out there yes. All of them have areas that can be improved on and the bean is no different but I do believe it is one of the best. I plan to do a follow up video to show things that could use improving and my long term thoughts so look for that in the upcoming weeks

    • @jamuelruiz
      @jamuelruiz 3 роки тому +2

      I don’t have a teardrop, yet. For me it would be a choice between the Bean and the Escapod. I think that’s how they spell it. Both are excellent and I am torn between the two.

    • @GrayLineOverland
      @GrayLineOverland  3 роки тому +2

      You should rent both. For me the bean was the winner but I would say that renting first is important then decide. It’s a large investment so take your time and get the best one for you

      @@GrayLineOverland I have to say I’ve been doing A LOT of research on so many different high end trailer campers, and although this is a pretty penny, it just all seems worth it. Great videos you’ve got.
