Most people don’t know this but this generation A7 (2019-Present) Jetta/Bora(Argentina)/GLI/Sagitar(China), was conceived and designed in its entirety at VW Puebla, Mexico manufacturing and design facilities. The MK7/7.5/7.75 is a car that was primarily designed and conceived for use in the third world (LATAM countries). The Jetta/GLI is a high margin sedan for VW Group of America because of its rather inexpensive manufacturing process in Mexico, 1 generation behind platform/powertrain/interior and rather reasonably entry price point. The gti and golf r are manufactured in Germany while the jetta is manufactured in new Mexico. So the German plant will only make allotment based gti and golf r, and the european gti and r will also be only automatic. Production efficiency is important for all manufacturers. When the Jetta looks better than the A5...
Oh yes a gli in AWD with the six speed. A true R!!! Please someone at VW hear me.
A limited edition GLI-R would be a head turner. I think it would go head to head with the Honda Accord Sport
Except it goes against the Civic, so the Civic Type R.
The tail light I prefer 2020 style. The new design looks like a Kia ……
Second restyle in the same gen? You know things ain't going well
So they made the dumb decision of discontinuing the Arteon😂 (And killing the NMS Passat in 2022). Now the ID.7 sedan is cancelled for North America and they suddenly find themselves with only 1 sedan left in the stable: Jetta/GLI. What do they do to fix the pickle VW Group of America got themselves into? Do a SECOND refresh on the current A7 Jetta (MK7.75)😂 and make it look more like an Arteon!😂
Looks great. The jetta was ugly this past gen...except in gli form.
The gti and golf r are manufactured in Germany while the jetta is manufactured in new Mexico. So the German plant will only make allotment based gti and golf r, and the european gti and r will also be only automatic. Production efficiency is important for all manufacturers. The jetta again is a point A to B car, so fuel efficiency and daily practicality are much more important. So horsepower isn't the main focus. The new Mexico plant will be building the automatic jetta for the everyday person and the GLI with the option of manual for the enthusiasts.
Oh wow the GTI has 14 more HP. Super performance oriented!
In Mexico, not New Mexico.

Why does he hold the pen in the hand like he is drawing and working so hard? It is meant to give, “I’m an authority on design and I’m serious?”
The new interior looks absolutely horrible
It takes the cheap look of a tablet style display without the modernity it provides. The thick bezels make it look like a Corolla/Rav4 interior 🤮
It will be unreliable and expensive to repair which is the norm. I have a 2018 Golf TSI. Never again.
54th!
VW Skoda Octavia sedan
test drove a new 6 speed GTI. Fun car, but their infotainment has made the entire brand a write-off.
In contrast to the Jetta, the new VW Passat looks awful.
now we just need good news from bmw.
Oh wow! They went from boring to bland.
The rear is ugly and trying to be angular and front seems idk ... Front end and back end seens like taken from 2 different cars..
I like the mk6.5 gli ..it look modern, muscular and still had the understated elegance
Wow
Second
You should compare it to the mk6 please the mk7 is some type of disgusting Frankenstein as a life long vw enthusiast that last jetta was the worst looked car they ever made
Still a NO from this man because of the stupid lack of real buttons and the glued-on, cheap, trashy looking screen slapped on the dash. I won't buy new again until then (last time 2016)
