1. Warm Blood Rush -- 0:00 2. Dear Father -- 2:28 3. Waves Crash, Clouds Roll -- 5:19 4. Empty Glass -- 8:00 5. No Kind of Home -- 11:29 6. White Knuckles -- 14:07 7. Cemetery Walls -- 16:18 For you then :-)
This is an original sound. I feel when people try to classify a band in a certain genre they are really just saying that any band that screams is the same.
Surely this is no real hardcore as it was used to be played back then, but actually it sounds good to my ears, for my own personal flavor, i like these guys no matter I listen to black flag, agnostic front or newer hardcore bands such as comeback kid or deez nuts...and I know that most of these newer bands just don't have the same attitude of the old ones, but times change so that's it. Then in my opinion hc is a big container of different styles of music, it keeps evolving indipendently you like it or not
why the fuck does anyone care what genre it is, it is defeater, and it is awesome, I don't care if you want to call it gangsta rap it doesn't change anything
instead of putting the length of the tracks the way you did in the description, you should put when they begin in the video so you can just click on it to hear that song immediately.
i think thats a stupid opinion. this is a post hardcore revival band. if you are a fan of true and true hardcore you should in all technicality hate this. hoever you you just like the music in the progresion of punk through time this is actually alrigt stuff. like decent stuff but not mindblowing because its really nothing new but its also NOT HARDCORE its POST HARDCORE done 30 years after it was first stumbled upon
but its not. like it doesnt even clasify as hardcore. like if a music historian listened to this they wouldnt label it hardcore. they would label it an off shoot of punk but not hardcpre.
oh im not by profession but that doesnt make a difference. this is posthardcore revival. just like la dispute and pianos become the teeth. like im not sure if you realise that hardcore was a music scene that exploded in the 80's underground? have you listened to black flag . this has every characteristic of posthardcore not hardcore. and you might say whats the difference? well theres a lot. stick to your guns is hardcore. your demise is hardcore, but alexisonfire is posthardcore. as is touche amore and iceage and this. and you might not care but it matters. it matters because people hate this on the grounds of incorrect labelling and it matters because all art is apreciated as part of a continuum
Kacimbe Do you know that hardcore doesn't necessarily mean that it's exactly the same as black flag? It's like saying Sunny Day Real Estate isn't emo because it doesn't sound like Rites Of Spring. Or that envy isn't screamo because it doesn't sound like Orchid. There are different off-shoots of hardcore. Defeater is like hardcore and melodic hardcore blended with "the wave" of post hardcore/screamo bands(like La Dispute, Pianos, Old Gray, etc.).
points to make 1. this is post hardcore. fugazi is post hardcore. big black is posthardcore, orchid is posthardcore, la dispute is posthardcore, old gray is posthardcore letlive is posthardcore, alexisonfire is posthardcore. but they dont all fit nicely together THAT is the beauty of music.. pianos, la dispute touche and oldgray fit together. they are a pocket of posthardcore that this has very little to do with musically regardless of who they are friends with. its like grouping frank ocean's musical style wiith the rest of odd future
the album cover looks like Brand News "the devil and god are raging inside me" minus the two reapers and the little girl
Thanks for the upload! This is the kind album that deserves to be heard in full.
1. Warm Blood Rush -- 0:00
2. Dear Father -- 2:28
3. Waves Crash, Clouds Roll -- 5:19
4. Empty Glass -- 8:00
5. No Kind of Home -- 11:29
6. White Knuckles -- 14:07
7. Cemetery Walls -- 16:18
For you then :-)
For years I thought there was no Defeater album than Travels but this is changing my mind...
I am glad to have stumbled upon theses guys. They are rad for sure!
This is an original sound. I feel when people try to classify a band in a certain genre they are really just saying that any band that screams is the same.
Jared Moore nah, its really not that original. they fit well within the hardcore genre. i like Defeater but yeah, not that original.
+Jared Moore Check out Have Heart and From Autumn to Ashes. Both musically similar bands I grew up with. You might be into them as well.
+Kevin Brown. yea I've heard of both I grew up with from autumn to ashes. a little different cuz they sing though.
masterpiece!
SO MANY FEELS

and then press replay, dont forget the replay. >_>
why the fuck does anyone care what genre it is, it is defeater, and it is awesome, I don't care if you want to call it gangsta rap it doesn't change anything
+Eric defeater sure does have some really great gangsta rap going on :)
I'd say they're almost as good as Katy Perry and taylor swift at it.
THERE AINT NOTHING LIKE YOUR SMILE, YOUR LEGS AND THOSE EYES...

The best.
Agreed, these guys are fuckin nice.
If everybody could stfu about if these guys are hardcore or whatever. They're a melodic hardcore band.
The times in the description are messed up...
It's actually their lenght
Ohhh Ive never seen anyone put it like that and youtube hyperlinks the numbers to the corresponding time in the video so that is pretty confusing tbh
@Black Projex:
Truly a wise words from you. This is way better than hardcore.

Funny how some people think they are some kind of kings that can decide what band is hardcore or not
Still funny, though
This album is perfect, btw!
but its not. like it doesnt even clasify as hardcore. like if a music historian listened to this they wouldnt label it hardcore. they would label it an off shoot of punk but not hardcpre.
But the difference is that I don't give a single fuck if they are or not.
And I don't think you are a music historian, by the way

Don't know who edited this... What kind of "functions" can be worked for ?
Claro que não UEHEUHEUHUE é nois.
they're kinda like the deftones go hardcore, its the dopest
Feel it nigga
"Hardcore" kids are so dissapointing these days. Just enjoy the fucking music
Musically very interesting. I think that if the singer really sang instead of screaming would be even better, but I guess it's just a matter of taste.
