Bob always has the best training videos!! The little mistakes that the dog makes and how to seamlessly handle them is what makes his videos 10x better. Real life training… can’t beat it.
Lots of good things in this video. Maybe the best is to simplify. Glad you added the text about alignment. Also, the heeling (hold bumper) correction. Well done. Standards!!!
I love that you kept the trouble at the beginning in the video👍 i got a question though since i’ve never seen anyone training stopping with the dummy on the way back. I get it’s a stop whistle drill you say you need for later T line training and you don’t want to stop on the way out yet(cause you don’t what the dog to fail and go for the dummy i guess) but why do you choose to risk spitting, slow return etc when stopping with the dummy and not just use 1 or 2 helpers out that pick up the dummy IF the dog doesn’t stop on his way out?(doesn’t work with piles obviously😅) i’d be scared to mess up the pick and come right back routine.
This is perfect because its right where we are in training. I tried doing this in combination with Mini_t and struggled. Going to simplify and use this drill with "back" only. Where you giving any collar pressure or "bumps" along with the whistle? Or, is that only needed if a correction must occur?
how do you correct a whistle sit on the way out where the dog sits every time but he doesn't turn all the way around. sometimes he will turn 180 and sit and sometimes he will only turn about half or 3/4 of that and look at me.
If properly FFed they shouldn’t spit it out and if they do you can use it as a teaching moment to do it right. I also don’t stop on the way back a bunch so they don’t slow on return
Where can we get that shirt? I went to the link to clothing on your website and it appears down. I didnt realize u were in ny. Where? I'm in hudson valley.
When do you release with "back" vs their name? I know the purpose of back is to start guiding/casting them. But what determines which release word you use?

I’d like to see one on cleaning up a whistle stop. It’s my crutch

Name is a mark, a bird they saw fall. Back is a blind, a bird they didn’t see fall
@@loneduckoutfitters So when training, should I only use back when retrieving from a pile, and never when retrieving a seen/thrown bumper?
@@loneduckoutfitters Thanks for the clarification!
What whistle is this?
Curious to know as well
