If someone said that the kid that plays Eustace on Narnia will be playing live action Adam Warlock. I would’ve laughed. But seeing him play Gally I know he will be great playing as Adam

Can we just stop for a minute and praise the cast and crew for this adaptation? The whole trilogy is underrated as all hell.
It’s not the best book adaptation, but I think it’s a very solid series. I’m still a bit torn on some of their changes to make it not as much sci-fi but it grounds it in more reality.
After re-reading the books and comparing them to the movies, I must say Scorch Trials and Death Cure in film form are a lot better than the books imo. The books feel a bit disjointed after they leave the maze but the movies always had the benefit of taking creative liberties from the start so they could establish those changes in the first movie to make it seem less jarring when they do leave the maze. I really liked these movies when I watched them for the first time and I think they hold up amazingly. The cg, the acting, the story changes and atmosphere, everything just works. This might be an unpopular opinion but I think the movies are just better than the books LOL
Is this 'gally return' also there in the book? Or its just a movie thing? Either way it really suckssss doesnt have a good explaination...

@@CraftyCarrothell nah books make the cranks more intimidating, maybe the action sequences are better in the movies but they skipped a lot of important stuff and Teresa’s betrayal was better in the books, plus they skipped out on the warp tunnel things that had flying metal balls that chopped people’s head off
When I first saw this movie, this part shocked the hell out of me. Cause definitely I was like everybody else in the movie like “didn’t this dude die”🤣

I really enjoyed Brenda and Jorge! Brenda came up with some great emotional scenes near the end when she told Thomas she wasn't gonna leave him. That really hit me hard in the theater I got misty too!

This movie was solid. I remember thinking the first one was decent then forgot there even were 2 more cuz they were never talked about. Just watched them for the first time and I really enjoyed them. Not the best rotten tomatoes rating but eh same with the shrek movies

This reveal was really shocking in the book when I first read it.
What strikes me is that the protags and WCKD are all chaotic *good* (besides Jansen). What makes them enemies is how they define "good". Pretty unique situation in fiction.

such extremely advanced weapons, and they cant hit their first shot? You can literally take any 6 months trained marksman, give him 30 seconds and he will hit the first round.

At first I thought they were just warning shots to get the crowd to disperse. Turns out no, they are just stormtroopers who can't hit their target. I was surprised when they actually started hitting people but they still somehow missed their targets with missiles lol. Killed literally everyone else.

I feel like Gally was one of the few parts the movie handled better than the book. In the book they spoiled the surprise by basically having a right arm member just come out and say “hey btw Gally is alive” what feels like so many chapters before they ever meet face to face and even then he spends most of the book as a background character that just says “ok you do this Thomas and I’ll see you at the end of the book”
Here it’s dumped on us and the characters like ripping off a band-aid, forcing out more raw emotion when Thomas beats his ass immediately afterward, plus, Gally has more hand in the movie’s events, taking part with Thomas in all the espionage

I always hated teenage/young adult dystopian movies that are based on books. Hunger games, divergent, you name it, I always thought the movies and books were complete shit. But this movie, this movie I actually loved watching.

Sheer luck, basically. The spear missed Gally’s heart. The bullet didn’t have that problem with Chuck (and even if it did, Chuck was a lot smaller and younger, so even a near miss could do enough damage to be fatal. Bullet wounds aren’t as clean as you’d think).
