he's always been talkative; they were either idiotic questions or he was just holding back because there was no time for translations and RM did all the english ones; now they're treated with more respect; at least outside of America, where no one expects them to speak english automatically. The difference is obvious. When the questions were good, he answered them all, and in korean too. If he didn't, the interview was shit anyway.

Isn't that such a beautiful thing to say to the millions of fans who didn't know of them when they debuted in Korea in 2013? Anyone can become their fan at anytime, and completely enjoy the personal experience of discovering and loving their music. I love the way he stated that. That (and his solo works, which is how I discovered BTS's music) is why he's my bias.💜
JK and Yoongi's linguistic intelligence are quite underrated. The two of them aren't necessarily fluent in English but the way they pronounce words and enunciate some vowels sounds are good. Kookie can even enunciate unvoiced TH sound perfectly and sometimes even the schwa sound. Yoongi sounds spontaneous when he talks.

Okay but what they said about broken Korean being acceptable is so so important. I think a lot of people are afraid of learning/ speaking Korean because they feel pressured to be perfect. But honestly just by watching their videos and variety shows/ k-dramas, you'll be surprised that its quite easy to pick up common phrases and slangs. Also, bodily gestures and facial expressions help a lot during communication! So I hope armys out there don't feel burdened by the difficult language, just be confident! :D
I've learned many languages... Korean from a pronunciation standpoint is extremely hard for English speakers. I'm trying to learn to read, which is easier than Japanese but still.... Korean I think is one of the hardest.
I loved watching Mr. Sunshine on Netflix. it was easy to pick up phrases.

The fear of learning Korean and pressure of perfection comes with MANY languages. In my experiences of traveling, natives of the nations I have visited were either respectful for my not-so-ideal enunciation or were rude. Some gave me credit or praises for trying and willing to learn their language while others butchered me down. If you want to learn Korean to connect with the people of South Korea if you ever pay a visit, do it. If you want to learn it for a future career, do it. Language is a beautiful thing and being multilingual is amazing

@Hoang Katelyn Actually it's not. Watch when he does interviews in the US. He has this characteristic accent, like the more hip-hop vibe kinda accent. I don't know what part of the US that is from though as I'm not from the US (if anyone could clarify this), but it's quite prominent.
I do the same, although I'm a native English speaker I switch up my accent depending on whom I'm with.
@@lenanana8- Namjoon's American accent is very West Coast, specifically SoCal, which makes sense if he grew up listening to and admiring American California rappers. You can hear it in the way he emphasizes certain syllables.
