    A recent paper suggests that amargasaurus' spines were covered in skin, not keratin which means bajadasaurus also had a pair of sails. Which is kinda sad because I love the oryx horn reconstruction

      @assfucker6997 Рік тому

      perhaps the skin on bajadasaurus secreted as substance, but instead of secreting snail slime or slug fluids that bad boy released the Baja for the main ingredient of the dahab last which can be created by mixing this with Mountain Dew. no not the one where they put the monster teeth in the spoon. Baja Blast from the Baja sorest in a Baja Blast to the Past, wild things to think about.

    Perhaps it also a defense mechanism against the rapid dinosaurs. Making them difficult to bite the neck.

    My theory in terms of defense could be similar to why the Stegosaur has its back plates simply put, if something bit onto those plates, they break off and the animal can go for the family jewels.

    The skin thing has been mostly debunked if I'm correct. It has very little function, and drastically lowers the animals range of motion in its neck. Most neck movements could result in tearing the skin. Spikes on the other hand could have helped them with self defense, intimidation, display, and probably more

    If it really had those spikes, then even at that small size, it would destroy any carnivore by just lowering it's neck and immediately raising it up.

    They look far too thin and round to be for sails.
    Skin on them wouldn't nessecarily mean sails on their neck.
    Imo, they could very likely be osteocones. A type of skin covered horn commonly found in girrafade family members.
