- Original Song Written by Benjamin Spoden recorded with Chris Strand on Upright Bass.
Chris and I have been playing together in a "busking" style band called "The Curses" out of Champaign IL on and off since 2008. Although, we've been playing this song around town for over 10 years, we have not made a studio recording of the song yet. BUT this is gonna be the year to add to our catalog. Thanks for listening! Hope you enjoy and best luck to all the contestants!
LYRICS:
Lay your tired body down by my side
Sleep all afternoon and get up around five
If you feel like we'll take a walk outside
Underneath the moon the day slipped on by
There's cricket's in the bushes I feel like I've told a horrible joke
Someone on the patio in suckin' in an after dinner smoke
The wind is picking up and it feels like it's gonna rain
We better turn around and get back to where we began
When we get back I'm gonna cook ya food
Light a candle and get you in the mood
Do the dishes and watch your favorite show
When you fall asleep a blanket I will throw
It's a quarter after midnight I carry you
Up into your room
Your half asleep and mumblin' noises that no one understands
I throw you on the bed and say you should brush your teeth
I'm not sure if you hear me but if you don't
Your breath is gonna stink!
YEEEE HAAAAW!
