Your know you're listening to an American when you hear them call strip malls the "traditional retail format" lol. But credit where credit's due, this is a great shift in mindset! The US desperately needs to build more mixed use developments.

It's been long enough to see the Euclidean zone planning model is more trouble then it's worth.
I instantly fell in love with mixed use development when I traveled abroad then came back to the states.
I hope mixed use takes off in america so I can finally find a place to call home.
I'm not going back to living in the increasingly unaffordable and wasteful suburbia as a single person.
