  • I have always loved sports, and decided to take up CrossFit when I was 40, not realising this would take me back down the path of being an athlete. I am so grateful I did find CrossFit as now on my menopause journey I know the importance of lifting heavy to build muscle and for bone health. Around the age of 45 I started getting menopause symptoms and gaining belly fat. This was a very busy stage of life with teenage daughters and being stretched thin. You will know what I mean if you are there or have lived through this period. My focus was helping raise well adjusted, good humans and that is a hard job. I did not know much about Menopause, only that you get hot flushes. I went to the GP and she spoke about HRT. I didn’t know anything about it, and decided maybe I wasn’t doing everything I could do to live the healthiest lifestyle.
