    one of the greatest tank calls. Patrick Antonius tanks for 3 minutes most likely going with his read that his 6 was good after the turn check and the results of a reduced looking opponent after a 3 minute tank. the best part of this is PA at 3:50 🦈

      yea the line doesn't really make sense. but I don't like Patrick's line either. I think he has to raise/give-up on the flop or bet/give-up turn. But yea that guy's line of bet-check-allin is just weird at this level. At small stakes it's 78 100% of the time but at this level it could easily be a 5 or 2 or some missed KQ or something.

      @@gordokdestroyerofworlds3480 Folding a pair heads up SB vs BB is so weak and you're just overfolding and your opponent can get you to fold too much. Raising is horrible too, folds out worse and better hands call or shove. Think Patriks line is fine.

    I am more shocked to see Charlie raise preflop any2 against Antonius. That can only be good if he really thinks Antonius is defending way too little. And in this case, a J9x flop hits Antonius pretty well, so I also hate the flop bet with no equity.

    • @yolancohen
      @yolancohen 5 років тому +1

      there are antes PF, which justifie Charlie to open more than 95% of his hand.
      So Charlie knows that antonius is gonna defend a lot against his raise (or shove).
      We shouldn't say that J9x hit Antonius range, range are so deep that there are no boards which really touch BB range.
      Also, J9x.
      J92 is heavily different than J98 for OOP/IP EV and OOP/IP equity realization.
      Charlie did a small bet, which I think its +ev because of the autofold Antonius had OTF

    • @00Visor
      @00Visor 5 років тому +1

      @@yolancohen Antes justify to play 90-95% in the SB if(!) you limp most of your hands, what you see most pros doing. It doesnt make sense to increase the potsize with bad hands like 84o if your opponent will defend and shove a lot.
      When you write J9x, you usually mean that the last card is not connected, so not J98.
      If Charlie assumes Antonius calls too tight, than J96 is a good board for Antonius because he doesnt have Hands like K3o, T2s, 52s, etc, but he will always have all those middle connected hands, that don't fold on this board.

      Carrell is trying to represent a strong hand that is trying to look weak.
      Because if he did have a good hand, playing it like that with a check on the turn then shove on the river, would be a good way of encouraging Patrik to call.

      @@JeanJean-rn7em you forget that the way the hand has been played.. does not indicate him having a strong hand.
      If he had..how would he be sure to get value from it. ??
      When the Q comes..he know he does not have it,but he also do not know if Patrick,have a Q.
      In all with him raising Preflop and Flop and shutting down on the Turn,he's story do not add up.
      Patrick also figures this out.
      The Check on the turn is the key moment.

      @@c.l.368 TBF, he is right. bet/check/ all in, is such a rare "value line". Turn is draw heavy, with big pairs and even a jack you would want to bet on turn on this draw heavy board against a fairly wide BB range. Charlie is very likely super imbalanced in this spot.

      well, its a tournament...the buyin was what 10,000 or maybe 25000...so the dude was only risking that much (peanuts in the high stakes world)...and maybe there were still re-buys open at that point too? challenging Antonius to high stakes cash would be much bolder and i don't think you'd see this play, maybe ever..

  • @FlyMoe69

    What did Antonius see that made him call? Was it the stare down or the fact that Carrel's hand half-covered his mouth? Just wondering what tell Antonius got from him. Wish I could read people this well. I would have folded but I only play 1/2. Getting better but have a long way to go.
