I always used to drive to Blackpool and the first sign coming on to the M55 was 'Garstang'. Always wondered wat it was like. Looks lovely. Always come by train now so I do not pass so close.
Enjoyable tour of Garstang Stephen. A friend of ours who lives in Blackpool often takes us to Garstang when we visit. I will be able to give him some more information now. Although I'm pretty sure he follows your channel.
Hi Stephen thank you for another great video as always Garstang looks lovely very picturesque lots of greenery lovely little shops too amazing have a great evening xx
Nice video. As an old Garstang resident (I emigrated to Fleetwood some years ago) I enjoyed the memories this brought to me. Yeah weind is definitely “weend” I’ve never seen it used anywhere else. My sister lives in the oldest cottage. Been owned by the family for years. My dad was born there in 1930 and when it was renovated in the mid 80s there was still wattle and daub walls inside. The reason there are so many pubs is because it was the original course of the great north road and most of the pubs on the high street were old coaching inns. Best pint used to be in the church inn just down from the Catholic Church. Now sadly been turned into flats.
I only know of Garstang through the services on the M6. Had a great meal years ago there too. Anyway, teh village looks very good place to live, wise lady that owns the Pleasure Beach.
It's lovely gatstang the park is lovely in the summer next to booths it's a lovely walk nice change of scenery good video can't wait for the next new videos
I'm in Lancaster, just 11 miles from Garstang (I always thought it was 10 miles). I've not been to Garstang for years! I used to pass through a lot on my way to Blackpool on the Bus. Read the information on the map? ... I'd need a SCANNING ELECTRON MICROSCOPE for that! The writing was TINY! 👎😂
I stayed at the "Chequered Flag" years ago, if anyone remembers the place? It had almost a Crossroads vibe. I believe it's changed names now but is still there.
My mums dads family originally from there and I love the first bit of video found the pub and you need to check them out always best to check out loo stops and drink place to wet your wrestle as my mum would say 😂 hope you are well keep up the amazing videos love seeing them
When you say Mrs Thompson lives out of the centre of the town. Do you mean perhaps more towards A6 ......possibly along Woodfold Lane way sort of thing? Oh and when you spoke to that first fan and he told you where to go ...... Ha ha ha ha.
Nice little town on what must have been at some point the old A6 I guess - maybe before it was even numbered as such? I had a look round myself a few years back, when visiting a friend on a nearby farm - he's now in St Michael's, so not a million miles away!
Interesting pretty little town. I’ve never known a place with so many pubs. Must be some history to the place with all those weinds and alleyways. A red light area there unbelievable?
We had a manager whose surname was Garstang and i always wondered if his family originated from there 🙂Its definitely a nice looking place and that flood barrier is really unexpected in such a rural setting.
Great video buddy, I used to work in the area, the fish and chip shop is brilliant. Also, the channel called Country House Gent spent 2yrs in Garstang on his narrow boat due to lockdown. As for the Canal, it goes through the over side of town.
Loved this video and love when you show us different places as it’s so interesting 🧐 but always love Blackpool ❤️ I had a cousin who lived in Garstang and visited there many years ago it’s a lovely place Thanks again Stephen for another good 👍 video 😁 Pauline from Blackpool living in Canada 🍁

I think you have found one of the nicer towns in Lancashire. They really take care. Thank you Stephen 😘.
Love the flowers in the phone box, rather than the usual vandalised, smelly ones. Looks a nice place to live.
Live in a phone box?
Loved this walk, some pretty parts with the flowers, loved inside the church lovely thanks Stephen 😊
Exploring the towns around the area is so much fun.

Glad you enjoyed it Len
Hi Steve, We used to go catching eels inthe river wyre in the 1950s just outside Garstang.
That's going back a fair while!
When you say Mrs Thompson lives out of the centre of the town. Do you mean perhaps more towards A6 ......possibly along Woodfold Lane way sort of thing?

Love another side of garstang , trust stephen to find the dark side of the town , hehe thanks 4 sharing
Interesting pretty little town. I’ve never known a place with so many pubs. Must be some history to the place with all those weinds and alleyways. A red light area there unbelievable?
He always finds 1 😅😅
It's a town sorry not a village
The red light district is well to the north of the town. It's really like a layby on the A6 road.
@@JohnHughes2002 yes there was some press about it recently. Dolphineholme area was it?
@@JohnHughes2002 I was going to ask where it was. Y’know….for a friend 😂
Very informative and relaxing as always
Hi Stephen what a lovley place Garstang is keep up the great videos
Thanks Janet 👍
Looks an Interesting place
All the street names are in the lancs dialect.
St. Thomas weind? St. Thomas way.
It's also the only town known to be totally fair trade.
We had a manager whose surname was Garstang and i always wondered if his family originated from there 🙂Its definitely a nice looking place and that flood barrier is really unexpected in such a rural setting.
Cheers Stephen 😘

Hi stephn from Helen in scotland
Wow it's Lovely
They have a market every Thursday in the main high street which they close to traffic
You can drive through but it's snug.
On way into Blackpool smart houses
You should do Darwen tower. It's just been refurbished.
I'll go when it's clear, so we can see Blackpool.
I've been there its lovely 😊
Garstang looks a nice well kept town
Hi Steven , Will you do the model village please ? Great vids 👍🏻cheers James Llandudno 🏴

I don't know. I've not been in the Pleasure Beach for about 14 years.
You should be given your soul to the Lord Stephen when you go in the church.

Still a Druggie Town no doubt.
Can you find hotels 🏨 in Blackpool that accommodation includes taking a bishon dog,or any dog really. Thank u.
Try Bowie's Lodge on North Promenade.
