    You should throw a pull start handle and string on it just to throw people off

    I love the Milwaukee battery set up. Makes me Wana build my own.

  • @medman36

    I like your setup. Very simple. Amazing it works this simple without tripping the batteries. Did you put fuses between each battery pack or just connect each battery pack in series? Can the batteries handle being put in series without tripping each battery bms prematurely, and without one battery fail prematurely? Which do youn think is better longer lasting system in the long run, a 4S configuration, a 2S2P system or a 4P system for this setup?

      @dingomotousa  Рік тому +2

      Thank you ! Had that setup until I started burning my battery packs , would not recommend it , I jumped in to that project knowing a little bit about batteries, would just buy a battery with the voltage you are running your setup it will be waaaayy cheaper in the long run, burnt up all 4 Milwaukee packs each go for $250 . 72v battery cost around $1200 on Amazon and eBay

    I would put clear plastic around the entire frame but have cut outs for the battery's but then you would have to relocate the battery for the headlight

      That’s a good , have been using the thing every where and just came from a big trip up north and have not had any water issues yet but definitely thinking about making it more water proof

    Try and get your front tires mounted a lil more forward from the neck of the frame. That would make it feel a lil better.

    I saw one of your comments mentioning the batteries were eventually ruined. Was that due to high amperage draw over a sustained amount of time? Thanks for creating all this content, too! ❤

    • @dingomotousa
      @dingomotousa  Рік тому +3

      Did some research after, with my limited knowledge at the time and my impulsive actions I learned a $1000 lesson. Lithium batteries must be balanced if you are going to run them in series. Unlike lead acid batteries that share their power and balance themselves lithium batteries don’t do that and you can’t run them to low or charge them exclusively because it will ruin them as well. So if you run some in series and one has more power than the other there might be a chance that you will over drain and ruin one , another big issue is the individual BMS (battery management systems) on each pack they get ruined and when you charge your battery it will throw a fault code and not charge your battery
      Thank you for watching!! 🙌🙏

    You should fix those forks, bent like that it'll be uncontrollable, you've gotta get the drag angle right, just want the contact patch of the front tire to be a few inches in front of the steering axis

    awesome build, just a guess here, it seems with 48ah you should be able to see about 25-30 miles of range?

    • @dingomotousa
      @dingomotousa  2 роки тому +3

      Yes that’s correct 👍depending how I’m riding off course, bought a 72v50ha battery from AliExpress and I’m getting 50mile range with that one and with the new aluminum frame

    What gauge wire did you use on the batteries, and are you using a fuse between the battery an control?

    • @dingomotousa
      @dingomotousa  3 роки тому +1

      I used 16ga wire and I do have a 50A fuse to protect the computer forgot to mention that 👍

    Cool looking build! I'm curious what your front and rear sprocket situation is. I have an old frame I want to convert but every motor I find has that weird tf8 sprocket and I'm not coming up with anything aftermarket to adapt to the #40 mini bike chain and sprocket.

    • @dingomotousa
      @dingomotousa  3 роки тому +2

      I used the tf8 sprocket the kit came with I did have to modify the new sprocket to fit on to the back tire by drilling new holes on the old sprocket I had and putting the new sprockets bolt pattern if you do that make sure you keep everything true and center the front sprocket and chain are the same ones that came with the kit check out my next video to get an idea of how I did it it’s not perfect but it works and have not had an issue good luck !!

    • @ss4goku9695
      @ss4goku9695 3 роки тому +2

      You can buy any size sprocket you want. Make sure it's double d, or single depending on your motor shaft. eBay is a good place to start.

    Do your batteries flash red after hitting the throttle even if they are fully charged? I have 3x 8.0 batteries in my mini bike at 54v and they flash red, work fine even though they are fully charged.

    • @marshy_4599
      @marshy_4599 Рік тому

      It means they are going into protection mode, you are either drawing too much current or are dropping the voltage too much under power, stop usind the bike asap you WILL damage the batteries if you keep using it that way, the batteries themselves dont have protections against under voltage and overcurrent draw, thoes features are usually built into milwaukee tools themselves
