Which is why he got out of that eye-watering $365 million contract (at the time the richest contract in sports history). So he can book his own fights without the politics and delays typical of the sport of boxing. This man understands how precious is the prime years for a boxer. And booking fights with the right opponents at THE RIGHT TIME is paramount for his hall-of-fame career. I mean he just unified all the belts at Super Middleweight. The first ever Mexican in history to do it! Most guys would've been resting on their laurels after that. Not Canelo... 1 week later and the man's promoting his next fight already - for the Cruiserweight Gold! This man is out hustling when he could be bathing in milk and honey right now. He's not about to smell his roses yet. Like the famous saying goes "Never rest in the middle... Always rest in the end."

Canelo improved his defense since floyd's mayweather relies on shoulders and footwork meanwhile Canelo's defense relies on stepping forward and headmovement totally different styles. Canelo realized that a good defense is just as good as a good offense after fighting floyd.

Canelo has a lot of haters but, every fight he proves them wrong. It brings me pride to know he was born and learned to fight in Guadalajara, my hometown.

@@joeboshears4210 I think people dislike him because of the Doping incident and because of a lot of bad scoring. For Example the first GGG fight was a total robber . GGG was clearly winning that fight and they gave a draw. Also a lot of Mexicans tend to talk of him as the Goat which other people don’t accept due to the fact that he got outclassed and schooled by a an old mayweather

This short story of his early beginning to modern time is very telling of the type of opponents Canelo had fought which is why Canelo is the p4p king and face of boxing because of the greatness he is seeking and is very well on his way to be one of the top 5 best in history if he can become a 5 division champ which is going to be by far his hardest fight since Mayweather trying to fight the champion at 190 pounds

His punches are so precise and the movement is so effective, like big power punches but every shot looks like a power punch. Dat posture, angle, positioning and swings are massive but looks effortless. Also got some ultra instinct level dodging skills
