For anyone in Europe looking for one of these, it appears to be identical to the Millenium SD-180 B StudioDesk available from Thomann. Currently selling for €339 or £299
I’m gonna go ahead and give this video a like, and probably go ahead and subscribe, because one this channel gets going it’s gonna go ahead and be one of the best out there. But on a serious note: Great presentation and editing. Go ahead 😂
Hey, thanks for the video, it looks great! I have one question, if you would please answer it! Do you think the desk is able to be disassembled and then reassembled after moving, or is it "one and done"?
I needed to hear this video, I’ve been looking at this desk on Amazon ironically for the last few months. I think what I’ll do is upgrade the keyboard stand with a slide out one and see if it’s not as much of a pain. Adding those wheels on the bottom is a good idea as well.
Great info. I have purchased this desk and will be assembling it this week. However, with a twist. Instead of using the standard base it comes with, i will attempt to use a automatic standing desk frame so it can be raised or lowered.
You said the keybord tray is 38 inch. Is it exact ? The spec sheet mention 39 inch. I have a akai 61 pro. And it's 38.58 inchs. I just want to be sure before buy this desk. Thanks for your video.
I've got a full sized keyboard, 88 keys. The keyboard tray only holds 10 lbs. and is 24 inches high. Keyboard needs 26 inches height. I cannot find a desk where the height of the keyboard tray is high enough. I've had to resign myself to having a separate computer desk and keyboard stand.
it will just fit my AN1X, and I love the very bottom space to put my UA satellites and midi interfaces and all that jazz, stuff I will never need to physically touch after connection. But that damn monitor space. It drives me nuts that I can not find a studio desk that fits 2x 27" monitors. What a shame as this is the closest I have come. The only thing I can think of is to place one monitor on the middle and one on the left shelf and use speaker stands sitting just on the side of the desk instead. Edit, darn, I could put my UPS on the bottom also. Seems like such an essential space to have. Heck I could even put my little mac studio and external drives there.
I disagree with the castors point deduction. The castors isn't the problem, the carpet is the problem. Get a floor protection mat instead. Smooth wheel movement and it protects your floor, especially if you have wood floors.
I think it could accommodate 88 keys with a small fix, just would need to put front legs to the sides as much as we can, then to make a custom shelf for our 88 key station, since sliders for keyboard could be moved aside too. Right? Would there be enough room for that? Thank you for the video. (edit: maybe some aluminium profile under the main desk, to strengthen it since the legs would be further away).
It's my next big buy, but honestly, it's a bit big for my room. If it could be about 8 -12 inches less wide, then it would be the perfect home/bedroom studio desk!
It is a large desk. Great for the buy but yes I could see how it could be problematic for any smaller size rooms. However the 480 desk i mentioned from sweetwater could be a potential solution in that situation. Never personally used it but it looks great for the price.
@@PatrickIstefanidis Also, big thanks for your review, very honest and pointed out something I failed to realize: the distance your rack gear is from you. I don't have long arms so I can see this as a problem. Again, a smaller version of this desk would be EXCELLENT. ACME are you listening??
As I see, in the info ..everywhere I looked say : Material - Wood; which can be interpreted as solid wood, like pine, maple, birch..etc.. But what I see in this video is that is MDF, am I right?
@@Ebh760 Thanks for your confirmation. I'll better of stop been lazy and make one. Between plywood, pipes and mounting racks will get close to $300. This one is too much ($500) for the quality. Thanks again man, good day!
Hey dude, I'm interested in buying a desk like this myself, but I'm worried about the rack spaces. I have Neumann KH310 monitors and a load of outboard, and I'm worried all that weight is going to break those plates off. How much weight do you reckon those could handle? Cheers!
Honestly, putting a lot of weight, +/- 50lbs each, on the shelves themselves makes the desk back heavy, but you just have to counteract that with weight on the front base. The shelves stick out a bit from the back base.
how far does the keyboard slide out? my keyboard will take up the majority of the space front to back. where does the edge of the back of the keyboard shelf stop?
@@Ebh760 thanks for responding. I bought it a few months ago and I like it a lot. I just had to make the keyboard shelf higher because it was hitting my knees.
@Erich Heider I attached (2) 2 x 2 wood strips on the bottom left & right of the tray. Then I screwed that back onto the tray rollers/holder arms. ( I guess that's what you call it. Lol) 1 × 1 will work too depending on your needs

ong 😂….I’ll go ahead and leave a like 👍!! lol 😂
I bought the same on Thomann Europe Millenium SD-180 for 280€... Its a nice desk yes.
Really detailed and great info! Like that how you point out all potential issues that we could be facing
Go Ahead

Great video man, well spoken, just got one today
What size computer screen are you using. I have a 34in curved monitor, would it fit the desk on an arm mount without blocking access to mounted units?

Thank You So Much for that wonderful detailed review! Great Video!
I just wish they made diagonal mounting shelves for the racks, so if I'm not using the rack space I don't lose real-estate.
Great vid bro

Did this work well with the standing desk frame?

Thanks, good info!!

Is it safe if you dont use the caster and jus place it on a rug/floor?

Question is can it even fit 61 keyboard, most of them are cca 104 (Korg) cm and this table pull out tray is 100 cm.
were you get the monitor stand thing?

yes with a laminate all over. pretty sturdy.

I’m wondering if the keyboard tray can handle heavy synthesizers. I think my Arturia weighs around 60 lbs
I don't know what it's rated at, but I would lean towards it being able to handle it.
So let's go ahead 😅 just an observation for you to improve. Great video 👍
Yo Man, Which type of screen you use please ? The brand ?
And the size of course :)
how far does the keyboard slide out? my keyboard will take up the majority of the space front to back. where does the edge of the back of the keyboard shelf stop?
It slides out 10" from the desk and is 15.5" deep total

@@tbonebeats6429 yeah I’m looking for a shorter chair! How did you raise it?

@@tbonebeats6429 Ah, you gave it a booster seat! Smart!
You deducted another point on 10:27
That should have changed the number from 9/10 to 8/10 but you didn't do that lol. 😅
Anyway nice studio. 😁
Doesn’t seem like a 27” iMac would fit . 😢
it would have to sit in front of the racks a little. Space between racks tapers from 24" to 28"
On my channel I have a video of my desk
