Can't wait for my melo's to grow some hats i thought they would just pump out flowers in random areas. Never bothered to check images of Melocactus concinnus

Hi Ana, when exactly is the growing season in the Phils. I read somewhere it should be March-Sept? So is it safe to put fertilizer?
I think Philippines can actually have a year round growing season because it doesn’t get very cold there. But I recommend that you force them to go dormant during the cooler months, around Dec to February. Less Ang watering, no fertilizer and let them feel the cooler air outdoors. This will make them bloom better during warmer months. Tapos around end Feb or March, regular water ulit and fertilizer. Protect mo lang sila from too much rain kapag tag-ulan na para hindi sila mag-rot. 😊 Good luck! I miss kapeng barako. 😭
