Purely from a PVP standpoint I would recommend regular over Shadow. Shadow drops too many common matchups (Mewtwo, Lugia, even Rayquaza in the 2s). Metagross is just too slow for the Shadow to work consistently. If you do a lot of raiding the Shadow investment will pay off so there is more total value but not in PVP alone.
I think so but be aware it does drop just a few matchups in certain shield scenarios. PVPoke shows it dropping Landorus in the 0-shield and Focus Blast Mewtwo plus Zarude in the 2s. You can pick up all of these matchups by Best Buddying your Metagross but I don't think any of these scenarios are common enough for you to really worry about it.

Hey so im using Heatran Lead, Xerneas Safe, and Rayq closer (they all have their preferred and legacy moves and both rayq & heat are lvl 50 but xern is 45) what could i improve on my ML team?

I wish I had Lugia, the closest I am to a master league legendary is my groudon that’s around lv45 after raid hour yesterday looking to try OML soon
OML is fun but it’s still tough to build the Legendaries. Hopefully we continue to see more non-Legendaries get more play next season!

i tried this team but since i dont like using legends i sub the Lugia for Gyarados work great as well
Shadow lugia is necessary?
I prefer Shadow since it can win a lot of matchups without needing to land an Aeroblast but regular will still work on this team for sure.

That primarina is 50 maxed with 100% IVS
only got 8 carbink off the incense on both days combined, got only 1 shiny rayquaza from 40 raids definitely not a good one
I feel you on the raid luck. Did pull a 15/15/14 Rayquaza but only 1 shiny from all the raids I did all weekend.
