An Easier way to hang your beag bag with the THE DOGBONE from APEX GIANT. PCT Style Bear Bag Hang with no fancy knots Get yours here hilltoppacks.com/products/dog...
Ben, you commented on one of my very first UA-cam videos. Thanks for the love and much appreciation for your support. Hoping I'll come up with a good design for a custom print bag soon so I can support y'all back.
Make your "dog bone" even more useful, add a tick tool on one end. A tick tool (a.k.a. Tick Key™) has a teardrop shaped hole that gets thinner toward the narrow end; it can safely remove ticks without heat, chemicals, or squeezing the tick.
I am taking mine out on the Long Trail on Saturday. I purchased the small and larger version. They both work great. I am done dealing with the stick method. I always had issues tying the knot over my head. Thanks so much.
How much weight can the carabiner (and I suppose the small or large dogbone before they bend) hold? Asking because I hike with my brother and son and we want to start hanging but want to hang 2 or 3 bags on one biner.
Cool product! But does it trigger anyone else that he feeds the cord through the biner instead of just snapping it through the gate? Regardless, great video my dude.
@@HilltopPacks that’s the dog bone right? Not the micro carabiner. But all good, I got it off the sight. 0.1 oz for the micro caribiner. So 0.19oz for the pair! Awesome weight and a great solution!
and instead of opening the carabiner to put the rope through the center of the carabiner, he fished the end of the rope and pulled X amount of rope through the carabiner. Did it twice, both inside and outside demonstration. I shouldn't nitpick, but it was a little annoying to see someone who is supposedly experienced do this in a demonstration video.
The dog bone also unlocks my bear canister, so I don’t need a coin handy. 👍
Nice!

PCT style rules, cool product!
Great tutorial, for another outstanding product. I love my Hilltop Packs gear!!!
Thank you!
Definitely a game changer! I've lost one of the old style aluminum toggles before (somewhere in WV). Don't intend to lose this one!
Like the idea..... couple things I've been eyeing up so it looks like I need to order more gear😁.
Ordered mine today to ship here to Arkansas. PCT 2024 the bag is going to Canada!
Thank you!
@@HilltopPacks no problem, likely get another bag shortly. I don’t like how my trowel fits into a ziplock. The trowel is a tad to big for a quart.

Boom! Nice demo, cool product. 👍
Brilliant! I just grabbed a large bag, now I need a dog bone. Btw, it’s a Marline spike hitch 😉
Got mine today and get to use it tomorrow on the PCT!

Love this! Brilliant idea Ben! How much does the micro carabiner weigh?
Small 2" - 0.09 oz in weight and Large 3" - 0.19 oz in weight

@@BackcountryForward Oops! I'll check
@@HilltopPacks all good. I gotcha!
Are the carabiners heavy enough to throw over a branch, or is a rock bag still needed?
They are perfect to connect yo a rock throw bag. Too light to throw by itself though
Thanks! Buying your set-up today! @@HilltopPacks
Already ordered one! Lol
Thank you!
If I put my food up a tree does this make ME the food being more convenient for the animals ⁉️
Yes.
You spent more than two minutes talking about how it's easier to use than other options before actually just showing how it works.
Correct
