Right now financial security should be at the top of everyone's priority list. I just heard on the news that In eviction cases in the U.S, about 13% of the U.S. population which represents over 40 million people is at risk of losing their homes this year. it’s going to be a very, very difficult time and I don’t want to be a doom and gloom person. I have roughly $100,000 in lifesaving funds that I need to grow quickly because the dream of retiring is starting to seem like a fairy tale. Please leave a comment if you can help.

German here, I want to offer a short version of my view of the crisis here. In short: Greece caused the debt problem by itself, but Germany actively made it worse. In the video, it is sort of indirectly mentioned: Debt to GDP ratio skyrocketed after the crisis began - much of that can be attributed to a shrinking GDP. Easy example: Say a country has a debt-to-GDP of 100%. Then the GDP drops by 25%. This means that the debt-to-GDP ratio is now at 133%. This partially explains the enormous increase in debt. What is the cause of the shrinking GDP? A huge part can be attributed to the economic policies that were implemented at the start of the crisis. Important to note: Germany was pretty much responsible for Greece's economic policies with the implementation of the Troika. To put it bluntly, in these matters, Greece was pretty much a vassal to Germany. And Germany was - and still is - obsessed with economic austerity and a balanced budget. Since Greece was spending a lot, huge cuts were implemented on behalf of Germany's government - many of these were to social services. However, this also meant that people had less money to spend, leading to a downward spiral. Germany is really stupid with regards to economic policies, so much so that I'd say our economy thrives (so far) in spite, not because of our politics. So, Germany actively made the situation in Greece worse. But that's not all. In German newspapers, reports of "us having to save the irresponsible south Europeans and lazy Greeks" was pretty common. It was disgusting on so many levels.
I personally am in favor of a debt cut for Greece - also sort of as a payback for a) the Troika and b) WW2 forced loans.

I think that the media' s propaganda really effects the way the people of two countries see each other and it causes me disgust as well. I don't think that all Germans are cruel as they are portrayed by the greek media as not all Greeks are lazy. People need to understand that among large masses one can find individuals with different qualities. The people of a nation can't all have just one characteristic. Australia is approaching a crisis with most of our natural resources sold and purchased back for a higher price, severe taxation, government corruption, Chinese ownership of massive parts of our country and industry, and increasing division between the rich and the poor. Your video in general is pretty accurate (especially where you show that despite popular belief Greece remains a first-world country), but imo it reflects 2015 public opinion in Greece more than 2022 public opinion. Right now, if you add up the electoral share of all parties that want Grexit, you would have about 10%. While it is true that in 2015 maybe a majority of Greeks would be open to leaving the Eurozone, nowadays it is a non-issue, with no major party supporting the idea, and it is never discussed as a solution among normal Greek people.
TLDR: Grexit in 2022 Greece and Europe is as unlikely as covid magically disappearing tomorrow

Yea. Economics have taken a bad turn for everyone. There are many allowances that are being given and probably go unappreciated. Like KEA and the allowance for crippled people. The first should perhaps be stopped and the second reduced because so many people are getting fired from the private sector for instance and it's not fair for them. The state should save as much as it can but also make sure that all have a roof over their heads and a plate of food availiable.

Your video was pretty good and accurate until you started talking about the crisis like it’s still 2015. It’s not. It’s 2022. This video came out 6 months ago, so I don’t understand the pessimism. Also, seriously, since grexit didn’t happen in 2015, you can be damn sure it’s not going to happen now. And Greece leaving the west for Russia? Because we are both orthodox? Come on man that is just laughable. Greece is out of the crisis, stop perpetuating something that is just not relevant anymore.

Germany's austerity was the wrong strategy for Greece... It started slow but kept going and going until the taxes went insane. The indirect bankruptcy of 2012 with the PSI cut was potentially worse than a real bankruptcy cause it just put the debt cycle in a loop. Now after the pandemic , combined with the energy crisis, Greece will face problems again... If there is no actual debt cut it is a matter of time to have the same problems.
