How to Release Convertible Top Latch In the Case of Sunroof Cable Failure. MINI Cooper R57 Models

In this video the procedure for releasing the convertible top latch when the sunroof cable fails. This gives access to components for repair. This repair procedure is for MINI Cooper R57 Convertible models, model year 2008 - 2012.

There is a t-30 screw that you can release the front latches with, in the middle on the top in which they break in this video. Do not pry the latch open release by turning the T30 screw to the left. If you continue to turn it it will take the top all the way down

Hello i have a 2005 mini and had rear small window replaced all works well But|| roof only opens half way both back connecters are in place can anybody help please .Peter

Could you make a video going the other way? My roof will close up to the point of where the sunroof would be and doesn’t slide at all. I don’t think the arms are locking in when the top folds up to the top of the windshield
