He probably knew. If I remember correctly, in certain areas there, kingship eligibility is matrilineal (the origin may be just to ensure a descendant of the lineage gets the throne, since paternity couldn’t be 100%ensured before) meaning the eldest son of the sister (eldest) of the previous king inherits, therefore the crown is passed between uncle and nephew

Speaks a lot about the wealth gap between countries. A king in one can just be a gardener in another.
That is not to undermine his identity nor efforts. But the inequality is so stark between developed and developing countries. It's painful.

In Europe, monarchs have a lot of access to state wealth but in many traditional monarchies in Africa and in Asia, monarchs had a lot of restrictions on the state wealth they could access. But I see your point, in countries with monarchies whose money has been nationalised, kings and nobility are largely poor.
@@angryowl5972 its not that theyre poor its that the income in the village/tribe is more evenly distributed, a king has more authority but not more wealth than the average citizen
