We’re excited for you and the channel Russ! Sooo sorry about your losses. The family pet is sooo much more that just an animal. They truly are a member of the family. Love the bathroom redo. And of course it always goes without sayin, If momma ain’t happy, AIN’T NOBODY happy...😂😅🤣 Best of luck with the floor pan on Overkill. Check with Roger regarding the issues he uncovered with rust in hidden spots. When I saw how he had to tear apart brand new panels, fix the rust, seal them and then reweld them that just discouraged me something aweful. But, you being the craftsman that you are, it’ll be fun to follow you along. Great to have you back in your shop!!! Bob
Thank you Bob. Yes that was a real eye opener when Roger discovered the rust in the new panels. I'll definitely be doing alot of the same repairs. I'm so looking forward to moving to a different section of the car. I kinda burnt myself out working on the doors, but I went the long way about it. More on that in a future video. lol
Sorry for your loss Ross, I enjoy your videos and I’m glad to see you back. I have a 1981 Z28 that I’m currently working on and I love working on it as well !!!
Russ, great having you back! Our bathroom renovation project came close to kicking my tail too this past spring. So I hear ya! I think 2021 is the year I rebuild my PC as well. It still runs pretty good, but I'd rather stay in front of it than figuring out when I NEED to upgrade.
Thanks Grant, It did try my patience, lol. I'm so glad I did the pc upgrade. Right now I'm still running both pc's. I have a new monitor with dual inputs and I purchased an A/B switch for my usb peripherals. I just have too much important stuff on my old pc to get rid of it at this point. Its still a decent machine. The new one is going to be so nice for my workflow though.
Great to see you back Russ. Sorry to hear about your friend and your pup. Hang in there my friend. The remodel looks great and I bet your wife is happy with it. Looking forward to seeing the pup when you get it.
Thank you Lloyd. I'm anxious to get him. My wife loves the remodel. We are wanting to remodel the downstairs bath now, but will have to wait a little bit, lol. Feels good to be back in the garage again.
Good to see you back looking forward to future videos. Just wanted to say during these times we all enjoy you and what you do, something positive for us all and it shows in comments. We all thank you
Welcome back Russ, was getting worried about you, sorry to hear about your pup passing they truly are family members. Looking forward to 2021 and seeing the continuation of your projects!
It's good to see you back. 2020 was a lousy year for more than a few of us, for many reasons. I hope your new year will be happy and peaceful, with lots to enjoy and celebrate. Hoping to see many more great videos from you this year. We had our own challenges last year, too, but we're still here and still looking forward to better days. All the best to you and your family from Linda and me.
Great to see you back. I am looking forward to seeing your progress in 2021. Sorry about your loss. You did an amazing job on the bathroom. I sure am not going to show that to my wife because she will then be on me to redo our bathroom. I didn't accomplish much on my Camaro in 2020 although I have been collecting tools and parts that I need and reorganizing my garage.
Thanks Timothy. I'm hoping I can make some progress this year. I'm off to a slow start. I need one nice day when I'm off to blast an old door shell. So far every day off this year has been snow or rain. Lol
Wondered what happened to you, Russ. Sorry I missed this. The bell is ringing but I never got the notification. Great to have you back. That bathroom is awesome! Hope the Rust Queen doesn't see this video or I know what I am going to be doing, lol. Your interior decorator made awesome choices in decor and color too. Looking forward to more videos in 2021.
Thanks Jerry. My wife is real happy with the way the bath turned out. I'm looking forward to getting some progress done. Sam has bought her a project car, so stay tuned for that. Its not a Camaro either. lol
Been rough russ sorry buddy, so much organization! I’m not sure what I would do with al that space, so much room for activities, bathroom looks awesome. Been looking at the 7’ harbor freight box to consolidate my 3 boxes into 1 but that 1100.00 has held me back. Love ya brother hope 2021 is awesome for you.
Wow....glad your back....was wondering where you were...2020 is a year we'd all soon forget...and I also am sorry for your lose...I to am working on two Camaros a 67 convertible and a 79 Z28 in a one car garage no less. Yeah its a nightmare....but I love your videos, you do great work looking forward to seeing you get back to the cars.....
Sorry for the loss of your friend and pet. 2020 was truly a tough year for us all. Glad to see you back making videos! I myself have not been on UA-cam in while, I will be back on my 70 and making some videos as well..... just picked up an 80 Z/28 for my wife (more UA-cam content :) ). Looking forward to some videos from Double R!! Dieter looks like an awesome dog!
Good update!!! So sad about ____. Don't want to put his name out there. He was always nice speaking with him at the pulaski office. So good to see you Russell❤️❤️
Welcome back, sure missed your videos. Sorry to hear about the loss of your friend, I lost one of my best friends a couple of years ago, so I know how you feel, I think of him every day. Love all your videos, they have helped me a lot.
There you are! 2020 is behind us now and I’m praying we can get back to something more normal. I’m sorry for your loss! I’m glad to see you are getting back at it!
Sorry Dan, I'm replying from my phone and thought I was replying to another one of my subscribers. I need glasses. Love your channel btw. I like how you include you daughter in the vids. I've been trying to get mine more involved. Its tougher as they get older.
@@DoubleRRestorations no problem, LOL. I figure it’s tough doing that stuff on your phone. I hope to get a Camaro one day and restore it like you are. Right now I’m just playing with Rusty junk. Thanks for watching my channel I appreciate it.
nice work russ as far as harbor freight i have been purchasing some new stuff i have to say that the new icon tool line is very good stuff. being a diesel mechanic by trade i just cant replace missing snap on tools due to the price and not having a snapon dealer so i have been buying icon and very happy with them
@@DoubleRRestorations well they are as good as the snap on ratchets i use to spend a hundred bucks on. in my opinion the wrenches are more user friendly and don't cut into my hands like the snap on wrenches did. don't get me wrong i spent thousands on snapon tools when i was younger but just cant justify it now that there are cheaper quality tools available.
Found the channel not long ago, sorry about your dog. We have two silky terroirs one is Roscoe name from the Dukes as well and he has a yellow duck that’s his little baby and most times won’t go to bed without it.
oh ok been a long well youtube shut of the bell had to turn it back on just was woundering where you went thumbs up shared sorry for the loss of your friend we all have busy life's forsure good updates time for another video soon lol
Hey Russ, Glade to see your back. We all hear you 2020 sucked ! I just lost a high school buddy of mine (at the age of 56 now) 2 weeks ago to this DAM virus, we meet in auto shop, he had a 68 Chevelle and I had a 1970 Formula 400. Anyways 33 years later and I'm now in the process of replacing that Firebird (sold it in 89). I bought a 1981 T Top turbo trans am from North Carolina that is surprisingly clean as far as sheet metal goes. I plan on starting a channel soon. So I have a question I need to replace the trunk pan but the quarters and tail panels are original and mint so I was thinking of just cutting out the old one between the middle of the frame rails and doing plug welds to the one side of the rail and but welding the seem up the middle of the rail so you wont see the seem from underneath, what do you think ? the whole pan wont fit in in one piece. Thanks for any input and sorry for your losses as well , pets and friends are like family members. Scott
Scott, that sounds like a good plan. You could even put the seam over the rail flange. It will be easier to weld that way serving as a backer and the seam would still be hidden. I would also spray some of the Eastwood Internal Frame Coating inside of the rail just to protect it after welding.
@@DoubleRRestorations Thanks Russ, excellent advice ! that makes more sense seeing how I'm still learning to weld too. So I'm assuming you mean the flange closets to the quarter panel so that I can coat the inside of the rail ?
